It's starting out a better year for me.
For the first time since my accident I had a blood test that came back a lot more positive for me than it is. Since i had my TBI i have been having my blood tests done nearly every month which always came back low for sodium. I was diagnosed with SIADH and i changed my diet by myself to help my sodium

Taper Complete…
I have stopped taking prednisone after 18 months of use and slowly reducing the dose. It has been just 2 weeks, so I know my PMR misadventure will still be ongoing. I am very grateful for the support and insight that I have received via this online group. I have been doing okay in terms of pain. Fatigue

Healthcare under a Labour Government?
I was asked to respond to a query from the Labour Party about my experiences with the NHS, and in particular whether I or anyone I know had had to resort to private care. I replied suggesting they don't need to dig far into thyroid care to find many, many patients in the UK who not only have to find

Hi girls!! So my story started 4 months ago going to my GP with unusual bleeding, pain during sex, bowel and bladder changes and pelvic pain. Fast forward to now it has been a monumental struggle to get my GPs to do anything but with a lot of pushing I have had a pelvic and transvaginal ultrasound done

COPD & thyroid problems
After having what I thought was an elongated COPD exacerbation lasting over 8 weeks which has resulted in me taking 4 lots of antibiotics and 2 lots of steroids, it’s now been suggested that I may have a thyroid problem. I always felt the problem was in my throat region, with lots of throat clearing,

Hello again
I posted a little while ago, that I had been diagnosed with cirrhosis just over a year ago as a progression of NAFLD that I was unaware of. I had been waiting results of DEXA scan which did show thinning of bones and an US which showed no abnormalities. (The cirrhosis had been diagnosed from a Fibroscan

Tests show fatty liver but I seem to have Terry's Nails?
I am 27F, currently 7 months pregnant. I currently weigh 209 but have lost 45lbs over the past year and a half. Annual medication review...
Me again...I go to the hospital for my blood tests as it's just easier. The GP however is responsible for issuing it. Today I had an email saying " You are due your yearly routine blood tests for your annual medication review. Please call the surgery.' Last year the pharmacist just called me. Not sure

Why does my rheumatologist want me to go onto Methotrexate when I am on a low does of Prednisolone and am getting good symptom relief?
I am now down to 2mg of Prednisolone a day. From a few weeks in my rheumatologist has wanted me to go onto Methotrexate. I have never achieved total symptom relief and recently I've probably been slightly stiffer than before, certainly in the mornings. My last blood tests showed that my CRP had gone

blood tests tomorrow
hi This is my first post and I’m almost clueless I had a full spine MRI. The report says I have small bilateral cysts on my thyroid. This is all it says. The MRI was for spine problems. I went to my doctor about this who has arranged a blood test tomorrow at 1145. Do I need to be fasting. Also

Hi all Warriors Since being on prednisone (since July 2023 at 60mg, now at l6mg) my A1C has slowly crept up. Had blood work yesterday and A1C is now at 7.1. I have been told by my rheumy this is steroid induced and will start going down as I taper. Even though I have been tapering by 1mg every 2

Calcium D3 Supplements
Are any of you diagnosed with Osteoporosis taking supplements, Calcium, D3, K, etc. even though blood tests show normal range? I have been advised it is not necessary to take supplements if blood tests normal. Too much Calcium may increase risk of other health issues. My PCP advises taking multivitamin

why does our thyroid suddenly become less effective?
I was almost 54 when a blood test told me I had a less effective thyroid and since this time last year I’ve gone from 50mcg to 75 and now up to 100 to see if it can get to the right level. I’ve been a serial dieter for 30 years and have blamed this. My Father had a goitre most of his adult life that
