hi everyone, had AF for 12 years, finally got use to it, stopped worrying and then found I was feeling a lack of strength and energy. ask my GP to check my BNP for heart failure, came back high, that started investigations they said my right ventrical was dilated, talk of pulmonary hypertention not

Ablation Number Four
Further to my post a few days ago where I described my disappointment at slipping back into ‘Possible AF’ just 10 weeks after my third ablation, I have now seen my EP. He analysed the print out of an ECG and feels that I am now experiencing atrial tachycardia rather than af and that it is worth doing

Cardiac surgery
Has anyone on long term thyroid meds had open-heart cardiac repair surgery? Any ideas as to whether it affects thyroid and any need to up/ lower T4/T3 meds? Any reflections/suggestions would be most welcome.

Cardiac open heart surgery
Hi to all Has anyone with metastatic breast cancer had open heart cardiac surgery and might you share your experience with me please? I only saw my surgeon yesterday and am now scheduled for Monday. How amazing is that but I'm just a bit scared. It's one of those 'be careful what you wish for' situations

How can I help my son?
I made the mistake of assuming the GP told him he was subclinical and got instant denial that he has any issue with his thyroid at all along with accusations that I am suffering with
health
anxiety
so I dropped it.

blood in stool with mild rectal pressure
I have horrible
health
anxiety
and fear the worst. I had an mri of my pelvis last year and nothing showed up. Would a tumor in my rectum or lower colon show up on an mri.

Open heart surgery
I had my first meeting with the surgical team at Papworth yesterday . I’m now pencilled in for an aortic valve replacement in June. We discussed my AF , the effects of surgery on episodes after and anticoagulants . Interestingly they stated that oral anticoagulants reduce the risk of stroke by 60/70%

More confused after GI consult
Also I clearly have
health
anxiety
so maybe just do it? Or I have
health
anxiety
and these tests are eventually going to kill me so don’t do it. The GI said it’s up to me but the only way to know is the bx but he is leaning toward the scan being correct.

Mitral Valve repair

I am TERRIFIED I have stomach cancer
I am a 27 year old female, and have been struggling with
health
anxiety
on and off for years. This time I genuinely feel like I’m dying and I’m so scared. I’ve barely slept or ate anything and can’t stop googling my symptoms.

Has anyone had severe breathlessness? I have had heart failure for over a year now, and I had a pacemaker fitted on 16th October last, then a change to my blood pressure tablet from Ramapril to Entresto. After a few weeks I became breathless, and developed atrial fibrillation again, so went back on to

Exercise can reduce cortisol leading to benefits and meditation offers benefits
Cortisol is the body’s main stress hormone and although it is crucial to many of the body’s functions, levels that are too high or too sustained can cause
health
problems including
anxiety
. Beyond helping with stress and anxiety, exercise has many other benefits for people with PD.

vasospastic coronary arteries
Well after 3 years and one aortic aneurysm fixed as a bonus, a consultant at an and e last night said ‘ you had better be tested for vasospastic coronary arteries ( well he said Prinzvariant actually) . From milk fairy’s and others brilliant posts that I have read at least I was aware of it. We are still

Heart Failure diagnosis.
I am an 80 year old female with a history of Atrial Fibrillation. I have had 3 Ablations and am now on rate control drugs which keep me quite comfortable. Recently my breathing became a problem and I am getting generalised weakness . I really do expect this at my grand age but I do like to drive and

Deleted post with link to AF outcomes
I just wrote a reply to a now deleted post that linked to an external site giving a review of AF and its long-term outcomes. It was from a company called "Medtronic", a maker of medical equipment and other materials. The web page it linked looked like it was a PowerPoint presentation aimed at health

Atrial tachycardia and PAC burden and urgency of ablation question
So I finally found the report from my 14 day holter monitor and it showed a PAC burden of 4% and 141 episodes of atrial tachycardia originating from the pulmonary vein and the longest stretch being 30 beats (I guess that is what the EP meant when he said i was having mini afib episodes, maybe he was

Post Ablation
Good morning, This is a long one so Thankyou if you get to the end! I had my 3rd Ablation last Thursday 18th Jan at St Bart’s . It was a fairly complex one and resulted in going from sedation to a general anesetic during procedure. I had an overnight stay and was discharged Friday afternoon. I was
