New user looking for some advice born with above since birth have been advised now severe and will require surgery on 28 september. None smoker and drinker no other health issues
Question for me at 47 do not wish to go through this again hence surgeon advised on-X valve with blood thinners.
What have people experienced with similar valve and using warfarin etc.
Also some here ticking noise other don`t?

Sorry to hear this. It's always a shock when your body lets you down. However, you are in good company and there are thousands of people with the same new valve.
I had a similar valve fitted during an emergency operation (at age 63, for an aortic dissection - my own valve was otherwise fine) but though I didn't get a choice in terms of type, I'm quite satisfied. As you say, at your age a tissue valve would need replacing at some point, and like you I'm glad I won't have to go through an open chest operation again.
I personally got used to the valve ticking very easily, in fact I find it quite comforting. Managing the warfarin is also not a problem, though being retired means I can get to my surgery for INR checks without restriction. However, if I was still working I would probably buy a Coagucheck machine and do the readings myself.
Although the patient guide below is largely not relevant to you, it does have a good section on valve management and warfarin. Pages 72 to 74, and 63.
