Hello new here 😀
Hello. Thought I give this a try. Please can I ask before I start not to use hard words and keep things simple as I have a learning disability and I may not understand them thanks 😀 I am trying to find some help with this. Going to try my best to explain. Recently my gp said to try the flu jab as I

Flu jab
I was meant to have the flu jab a couple of weeks back and I didn't. I had it last year the day before Christmas Eve and felt so ill. Even putting the pressies round the tree the next day brought me out in a sweat...and I felt fluey all over Christmas which obviously spoilt it a bit with fibro on top

Do undertreated Thyroids make things like flu and colds worse do you think
So I’ve had the flu, no I don’t mean cold, I mean flat out in bed for a fortnight unable to move feeling like death flu. The other half has said that they have never seen me look so ill even after I had my appendix out, Mind you the fact that my TSH is 58 at the moment I don’t suppose is helping, yes

Flu jab.
Yesterday I had my fourth cycle of chemo and avastin. I was advised by the chemo nurse to get a flu jab. I phoned my doctors surgery this morning and they said they're so sorry but I'm not eligible. I need to get it done at a chemists. It's not the money I'm bothered about but the principle. Surely

Flu jab?
Hi, I was just wondering what people's opinion/experience with having the flu vaccination was? I am offered it for free at work, but as person with fibromyalgia I am worried this could cause problems opposed to helping! What do people think?

Had 1st Spirometer test today
Have had 1st spirometer test today and have mild to moderate COPD, Feeling a bit down as have many unanswered questions, ie do I have to notify my place of work, is there any breathing exercises I can try. Don't know what my reading was for test, but have to go back in 4 weeks for another spirometer

Low Platelets
I just got back from my visit to MD Anderson and had a platelet count of 89. My last readings from about 4 months ago were 166. I was very shocked by how low these levels were. Dr Keating was not worried about this at all. He said it could be from having a cold which I had a couple weeks ago or from

How to prevent chest infections?
I am a 67 year old W and W er in the UK possibly looking at some form of treatment next year. I am otherwise fit with no other symptoms other than every time I get a cold it almost inevitably ends up with me at the GP getting antibiotics to combat a chest infection. I know my immune system is compromised

Starting methotrexate
So I had my 6 month check up with the rheumy today. She's totally lost knowing what to do with me - I've had to come off plaquenil again as it's just making me so sick and such bad stomach acid I just can't cope with it. All of the other treatments we've tried I seem to react to - which we now know is

GPs Antibiotic dosage did not work.
I suppose it had to happen to me at sometime with all the problems I have had in the past, but this year I had my flu jab on 24th October and then on 3rd November started with a cold, so following previous hospital instructions tried to see a GP at my practice but could only get in to see a Medical Practioner

NOT ASTHMA
Last winter I was on antibiotics from September to March intermittently. Won.t bore you with all the details as I have been asking my GP for a Chest Ex-ray'during all that time. Anyway He still hasn't arranged one. I eventually gotl the phlegm, I constantly have been coughing up since September, checked

Does wheat make Asthma worse
Iv had Asthma 20 years but for some reason things change drastically last year with and bad attack hospital admittance and complete change of medication. Taking many months to feel normal. If you know what I mean. Then find we are in September and things start to deteriorate after Flu jab. Apologise

FLU!!!!
Hi all, I forgot to get my flu jab this year flu has hit me harder than most for as long as I can remember so for starters this is a reminder that a lot of information from doctors and online says that flu tends to be worse in people with fibromyalgia. Getthe flu jab! Even if it does cause you a flare

About the Shingle and pneumonia vaccine
We recommend you get your annual flu vaccine. As for the pneumonia vaccine, this is typically recommended for those over 65 years of age unless patients are immunocompromised. Since you are on Copaxone, which doesn't suppress your immune system, I don't think you need to get it at this time unless

Evening folks Had a bad day😟 today. This time last year I became really poorly with my Asthma being totally uncontrolled - this taking many months to get medication sorted. With many trips to consultants and hospital stays etc. It had taken until may to become more controlled. Then flu jab and well

Slowly reducing pred..not good this week.
Hi, I'll try to keep this short. I'm new to the forum. Got my diagnosis of Temporal Arteritis about 20months ago now. Rheumatology have struggled to reduce my pred, I'd get down to 20mg then the symptoms would start again, headache, headsore and jaw ache. They tried me on Azathioprine but my liver enzymes

Trigger points and Function - Dukes Analysis
My late Mother had Multi infart dementia extremely severely for 20 years with cognition gone, hoisted everywhere to the point of speaking and swallowing and the cognitive . Did she get Continuing Care ? Was she a fraud ? She was branded as such then fleeced of the home by the Government? My Late father

The Shingles vaccine debate - and PMR
I had totally forgotten that I found this bit of info well over a year ago when the usual question about the shingles vaccine was asked and wrote a post about it: "I can't give you the direct link but on a site called "virginiahopkinstestkits" There is a quote from Merck ( the makers of Zostavax):
