IBS and possible prolapse in bowel
Hi all, I have been diagnosed with IBS and Diverticulitis. Pregablin medication seems to be helping. When I recently explained to the GP that every day I am in discomfort from my bowel and despite me having bowel movements on a daily basis that within 30-45 mins after I feel I need to have another bowel

Typewriter tinnitus or Middle Ear Myoclonus?
Hi all, I had a clicking start in my left ear 5 months ago. At first it was just a click, and there was a feeling to it too. At times it could sting my ear. Then one night, I got a bombardment of lighter clicks in the ear, that went on for a near minute. Over time the these clicks have become more frequent

Dave Barry: A journey into my colon - and yours
A plagiarised version of an article by Dave Barry, published in the Miami Herald in 2008, appeared in one of my newsfeeds recently. I thought I'd share it here, as the message for 50-74 year-olds:
screen yourself for colorectal cancer
, is as relevant today as it was fifteen years ago.

I am not sure if I have IBS?
There are some symptoms that completely matches with IBS, like- abdominal pain, extreme flatulence, constipation, stomach noises, always having the urge to move bowels. But doctors never could diagnose anything, told me that the body would cure itself since I'm young. I have done ultrasonography, endoscopy

tramadol
I was on tramadol for at least 10 years----100 mg. then my doc took me off because a neurologist put me on Clonazepam for REM/SBD (rapid eye movement sleep behavior disorder.) But I was also getting cervical and lumbar rhizotomies...and still do every 12-14 months or so. I am now working with the VA

Microscopic colitis associated with RA
Well the colonoscopy didn't happen two weeks ago due to having to give up a non RA medication I was too ill to go. Update it's next week and I can stay on the medication until the day of the colonoscopy. A biopsy is needed to confirm MC and then the treatment of steroids. You may wonder why I'm telling

DVLA licence renewal
Two years ago I had to inform the DVLA that I had developed glaucoma in both eyes. It was a very stressful time as I had a trabeculectomy, corrective surgery and cataract removal before embarking on the vision test. The Specsavers team was very helpful in deferring my test until I felt ready to take

1 colonoscopy + 1 sigmoidoscopy in 3 years; symptoms persist
In the past three years I’ve had a colonoscopy (July 2020) that was clear and a sigmoidoscopy a year later in May 2021 that found small internal hemorrhoids and a hypertrophic anal papillae (benign). However, my symptoms of rectal bleeding, some rectal pain, and intermittent constipation have persisted

Help! Stomach Bug & Holiday!
For over a week I have had some sort of stomach bug with awful pains in the lower stomach, causing loose stools, feeling chilled then hot, with a recurring headache. I contacted my doctor asking for urgent stool tests, as I am due to go on holiday to Spain next Monday, just in case it is a stomach bug

colon cancer
I have had irregular bowel movements for as long as I can remember. Recently I noticed blood streaks in my stool. I’m scheduled for a colonoscopy this week but my anxiety is through the roof. My sibling was recently diagnosed with colon cancer and now I’m scared that I may have it as well. Any advice

stomach upset
my husband is 3 and 1/2 years post op. Esophagus and over half of his stomach has been removed. It is helpful reading your experiences. He gets a stomach ache every time he eats. Just recently he has found that he’s not cleaning out enough. He started taking miralax at night to clean out his system and

How to get bladder to hold urine again? Bladder training?
Looking for guidance from others who have had to regain bladder function. I had a bad case of Radiation Cystitis along with hemorrhagic bleeding that sent me to the hospital multiple times for blocked urine flow due to clots, the last time being end of Jan 2023. After 20 sessions of hyperbaric oxygen

Coagulation markers as independent predictors of prostate cancer aggressiveness.
New study below [1]. Altered coagulation factors are an early event in PCa. Indeed, the first sign of PCa in some men may be a deep vein thrombosis [DVT. The study authors wondered if there were coagulation factors associated with aggressive disease. Only fibrinogen & D-dimer were determined
