Confused about B12, iron and haemoglobin
So B12 is 170 (187-883) Iron is 24 (20-200) - so apparently fine And
haemoglobin
is apparently fine - don't have figures. Had my first shot today and asked if they would be testing for PA. But apparently as I am not anemic according to
haemoglobin
test I can't have PA.

Polycytheamia ?
Over recent months my
haemoglobin
has steadily risen from 150 to 183 and pack cell volume to 53. Rheumy has referred me for kidney scans and to haematology. Suspected Polycythemia. Anyone on this forum had similar? Cheers folks

What is a 'normal' haemoglobin concentration? Are the reference ranges also too broad?
Looking at my latest (which is a few months ago now) blood results and I also wonder if my
haemoglobin
is too low? 12.8 g/dL [12 - 16]. Looking back over the years, it has always been 12. something. And my folate too?? Serum folate level 16 ng/ml [4.6 - 34.8]. I already know my ferritin is too low.

B12 level 'normal' but have symptoms feeling ill
The results of the blood test in March were: Folate 11.5 (no range available apparently) B12 498 (range 120 - 625) this range seems odd to me as most ranges seem to be around 200 - 900
Haemoglobin
144 (range 120 - 160) I have read that the general blood test for B12 is unreliable.
