Haemoglobin
is 70 with transfusion cut off being 60 but they don't like to "transfuse young people with chronic kidney disease" cos it reduces their chances of finding a suitable donor for transplant in the future. All scary stuff. It is rare I see to be a young male with SLE.

Advice please on supplements
Haemoglobin
and iron always at bottom of range. Over the year her ferritin is now dropping back down and below results are her most recent. She has her iron and ferritin and complete blood count levels monitored every 3 months and is back on 1 iron tablet per day.

MTX blood tests
My GP has told me my blood tests are showing low
haemoglobin
levels. For 3 or 4 days after taking MTX I feel like I've ran into a wall. Has anyone had the same problems.

I ended up in ICU with a
haemoglobin
count of around 3. I spent 4 days in hospital with no recollection of anything but since then have been fine apart from the occasional bout of short breath at night.

Ibrutinib doing its job well
WBC is coming down nicely and platelets,
haemoglobin
etc all in the healthy range. Joint pain is less often and I know that it will pass within a couple of days.

Low ferritin level?
My iron levels and
haemoglobin
are both in range. By my calculations my ferritin is only about 17.5% of the range and I was also of the opinion that a healthy figure for a man should be around 100?
