nitroglycerin transdermal patch).
Morning all, just a quick question. I wear a 15 mg nitroglycerin transdermal patch daily. I was told to wear it for about 14 hrs a day and leave it off overnight. Last night I forgot to remove it (I do have a reminder on my phone). Should I put it on the usual time today or wait a few hours. It sounds

I'm new here ~ GTN SPRAY
Hi Folks ~ heart attack beginning of Oct and 1 stent so week 5 now. Have been told have heart failure. I know to ring rehab or GP or out of hours if I need help. But ~ What feeling am I supposed to take GTN spray for? Does it feel the same and same place as the heart attack? I have a 'heavy heart' feeling

Microvascular angina frustration.
Hi everyone, Im 47 (some will have seen a couple of posts before) and in September I was diagnosed with Cardiac Syndrome X (microvascular angina). I had crippling chest pain on slight exertion but as there were no beds in Coronary Care, where I would have seen a cardiologist, I ended up in an acute medical

Unstable angina? Syndrome X?
Hello everyone Im 47 and up until 3 months ago I was fit and well. I woke one morning with unilateral face numbness and after MRI was thought to be a TIA ( small stroke) Round about this time I started to get significant central chest pain on minimal exertion and after 2 or 3 A&E/hospital admissions

possible recurrent pericarditis or coronary artery spasm
I have been suffering moderate to bad chest pains for quite awhile. one hospital has diagnosed recurrent pericarditis another now has said it might be CAS. my angiogram shows moderate diffuse artery problems which I was told are not bad enough to worry about. a jelly scan does not show any problems either

Not heartburn and more pills
Well I saw the consultant today and it seems the pain I have been having is not heartburn but from angina. I did star t to think that myself as the pains started just after getting up before I had any food and did use my GTN spray more and it helped. Now I am going to have Isotard 40 XL to take and hope

Brooks Run Signature Tour update
Just to let you know what it's all about following my post the other day. Basically, a ticket for the Run Signature gets you what is essentially a gait analysis but slightly 'techy', all done on a treadmill in the back of a large trailer plus a 20% discount card for a new pair of trainers). They strap

Should I see a private GI specialist? What are your experiences? (UK)
This is my first post on a forum so sorry that it's long!... I noticed symptoms around 2 years ago, they worsened around half a year ago and have got progressively worse over the months until now. I suffer with constipation (I go several times a day but only a small amount at a time), I never feel empty

Anemia & ADT
New study below [1]. But why? It is well known that that as testosterone [T] drops in men, so does the red blood cell count. RBCs contain hemoglobin, which carries oxygen from lungs to the rest of the body. Dr. Myers has said that almost all of his patients on ADT are "mildly" anemic [3]. Wiki [2]

HIF-1α inhibition by DES.
New study below. We are 30+ years into the Lupron era, but diethylstilbestrol [DES] was used for about 45 years before that & shouldn't be entirely ignored. DES is a synthetic estrogen. The male response to high amounts of estrogen is reduced testosterone production (the presumed source of the estrogen

Physical or neurological?
Hi, I'm new to this site and to posting in general so forgive me if I get things wrong. I have suffered from bouts of vertigo for many years. Just over a year ago I had what I (and the medics) thought was a heart attack. Since then the vertigo has been with me 24/7 and now I have ataxia as well. Like
