Statins & Metformin
For those interested in the full text of the recent study: https://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/epdf/10.1002/cam4.2862 Of particular interest is Table 3. Note that Lovastatin did very poorly, but not many men were using it. Simvastatin, which had more users than the other statins combined, was disappointing

Does anyone else get tired from metformin?
Hi everyone, I've been on metformin before, The first time was when I was diagnosed with PCOS and I was already fatigued from being so off that I felt better as soon as I started taking it. The second time I started up again was 4 months after having a baby so I was tired anyway. I just started taking

Diabetes Medication
My husband has PD and about a year ago was told he was pre-diabetic. He was given Metformin but found it was affecting his PD so stopped taking it. He managed to reduce his blood sugar readings but past two visits to the nurse they have been up again and the nurse is talking about different meds, either

No Symptoms of diabetes, but taking Metformin
I have recently been told I am diabetic, but the only symptom I had was thrush twice. I have been taking Metformin for a week now. How do I tell if they are helping please? Is it just the blood test every 3 months that will tell me if they are working? Thank you.

Avastin, Metformin and a Pleurodesis-
I have found much worthwhile information from the experiences on this site. I thought it may help someone else in the future to share my treatment changes in the past month- perhaps someone else may benefit from the information. I am 45 years old. I was diagnosed with Stage 4 Ovarian Clear Cell in May

Insulin resistance/ diabetes and fibromylalgia
Today I answered someone else's post and this led to discussions about sugar, diabetes and fibro. That led two of us to look at links, and we found recent medical papers saying there is a link, not sure which causes which. I am Insulin resistant, take Metformin and, while I have problems, I read what

Metformin
https://www.google.ca/amp/s/www.physiciansweekly.com/asco-metformin-no-help-in-advanced-prostate-cancer/amp/ I read this article and it has me questioning on whether this is accurate or not. Anyone here on metformin? How has it been for you? Also, another question, what is free survival?

Will a Ketogenic Diet and/or Metformin Relieve Cognitive Impairment Due to Androgen Deprivation Therapy?
As I posted previously, I have been experimenting with a ketogenic diet and intermittent fasting (IMF) as well as taking metformin (1,000 mg/day) for non-glycemic benefits for the past 3 months now. It is amazing how well I feel on this. Even while going through radiation (SBRT/IGRT for pelvic nodes)
