Early morning Hyperglycemia (High Blood Glucose)... for TYPE 1 Diabetics... Be aware
If you get a Hyperglycemia (High BG Level) in the mornings adjust your insulin dosage as per the recommendation of the doctor. The TWO reasons for it are: The reason 1 for this occurrence is due to the reason that after the onset of sleep, there is a surge in the secretion of growth hormone. This

Diabetes Type 2 - nasty surprise, learning to operate gadgets.
Sometimes, life gives nasty surprises. I was having a big uncalled for pride in being a person of good health all my adult life. I was thankful to the gene on my father’s side where everyone enjoyed robust health. I was also very active and enjoyed life as much as I could. During the past few years

The Blood glucose and HbA1C testing
When you check your blood glucose with a meter, you measure blood glucose at the moment you perform the test. This number gives you key feedback for making present and day-to-day adjustments in your diabetes management. The HbA1C test, done at your doctor's, shows you your average blood glucose over

Results from Endo Visit - could I have some advice please?
Today I have received copies of my Endo's report to my GP. He recommends a raise in T4 from 125mcg to 150mcg (and again states his opposition to NDT and T3 ) He says this is with "the aim of raising the free thyroid hormones to the upper limit of the normal range, and avoiding a suppressed TSH.

GP would NOT refer to Consultant/Specialist. Suggested Depression or Chronic Fatigue Syndrome!! Says all results are normal. What do I do?
I have asked again for more detailed results (not provided previously) but it's very lengthy and not sure if you can 'attach' them on here. I'm afraid I've just returned from my GP after requesting a referral to a consultant and she wouldn't. !! In my surgery you book into whoever is

sea salt, more vitamins + 2 weeks levothyroxine before bed; condition much worse. Is this just my body adapting?
There seems to be some speculation that taking your meds before bed was more beneficial than in the morning. So, this is what i've been doing for the last two weeks. I don't recall the exact amount of time because my memory is virtually non existent in that respect. In this time period I've also

Have to wait and see if blood glucose high now. Don't think I can cope if I have diabetes too. I hate being a patient! I used

How soon after dumping should I have sugar?
I've just got a machine for measuring blood glucose levels. I tried it out last evening, immediately after dumping, and it was 9.6. Half an hour later it was 3.1 I then had a sweet drink, and did feel a bit better. But how long should I have waited before I did the test?

Chicken and Egg Syndrome and Brick walls!
I am one of those people that once they get their claws into something I rarely let go. I enjoy doing bits of research on anything which is of interest. More often you hit a brick wall eventually. I have been looking at this deficiency of Vit D in PD plus other deficiencies as they seem to surface
