I have stage one liver chirrhosis as a result of having hepatitis C - which I cleared in 2016 - In January this year after an episode of finding black stools, I had an investigative endoscopy finding 4 grade 2 oesophagus varices

transplant evaluation and right heart catheter
hello, partner due at the royal free next week and as part of evaluation has been booked for a right heart catheter. Has anyone had one, is it awful? How quickly did you recover. He was expecting to have to have one so its not a terrible shock

I have Cirrhosis and heart failure. My Hepatology Consultant has spoken to my Cardiology Consultant and agreed I should move from Bisoprolol beta blockers to Carvedilol. The problem is I've read on the nhs web site that these should not be prescribed to people with liver disease. The side effects can

Do I really have PBC?
Sorry, I know this question has been asked before but I'm seeking a bit of clarity. I'm one of the lucky ones in that I have no ill health related to PBC and I do feel for those of you suffering so much. Back around 2001, I was found to have AMAs after a blood test for another reason. No unusual LFTs

Blood in Urine
Over the last couple of months, I have had blood in my urine on three occasions. No other symptoms. Is this down to my cirrhosis, and if so, what causes it? I've had cirrhosis for six years and this has only recently started to happen. I should add that I recently had several scans to investigate a

Liver fibrosis
I have liver fibrosis after having hepatitis c. I got the hep c through contaminated blood products namely factor 8. I am suffering from pain under my right breast, which may be gallbladder issues. The Doctor told me it can't be liver pain as the liver has no nerves therefor can't get pain there. This

meld. And ukeld scores
My son has compensated liver cirrhosis and I check his blood tests and reports as no one really explains them . His meld score is 11 and his ukeld score is 58 . I’ve been told by liver specialist nurse tgee as to they g do not take into account the meld score as it’s not accurate . Why do they do both

mercaptopurine
I've had another flare of my AIH and they've started me on mercaptopurine daily. I was wondering what help & advice any 6MP users could give me. Experiences, side effects, do's & dont's? I'm nervous about taking it after having a bad reaction to azathioprine. Feel okay so far tho.

A ticking time bomb you could say. This relative is not very honest and seems to act as if there’s no problem however will attend his

good platelet count
my husbands platelet count is and has been really good at 277. I have heard elsewhere( not professionally but from an excellent source) that he is unlikely to have cirrhosis with this reading. He was diagnosed with decompensated cirrhosis earlier this year with many symptoms. He is almost back to being

How long for CT Scan results
I had a CT Scan on Monday night and was just wondering how long does it take to get the results back. They were checking my pancreas and all along my abdomen including the right side where I have uncomfort. Also does CT Scan tell you the degree to Liver Fibrosis. I have F3 Fibrosis but have massively

Fatty Liver - So worried
I gave up drinking about 3 years ago with some 'blips' along the way where I tried moderation which I absolutely know now does not work. However, the dragging sensation I used to get in my liver area when I used to take a drink has persisted into sobriety. I approached the doctor to look into this in
