Over the last couple of months, I have had blood in my urine on three occasions. No other symptoms. Is this down to my cirrhosis, and if so, what causes it? I've had cirrhosis for six years and this has only recently started to happen. I should add that I recently had several scans to investigate a new lesion on my liver, but no cancer was found.

Blood in Urine
Have you had this blood in urine issue checked out by your GP? Could be any number of reasons for it and it shouldn't be ignored.

Dear Beauport
This is a question that your own health care professional is best-placed to answer, and we suggest contacting your doctor or other health care professional in the first instance.

Yes definitely you need to get checked by your GP. I had blood in my urine. I Couldn’t see it. It was picked up via a random urine sample. My GP referred me and I had a cystoscopy at hospital who further referred me to a Nephrologist (kidney specialist). I was thankfully ok and it was put down to my cirrhosis. Hopefully you will be given the all clear too.
The problem with a diagnosis of cirrhosis is there’s a danger that everything is put down to it, when it may be something completely unconnected. Even the medical profession start with cirrhosis and work backwards. I suppose that’s inevitable given its potentially wide ranging effects. I’m careful to remind myself to pay attention to my body and flag anything concerning to my doctors. Great that you’ve booked an appointment with your GP.
No it’s nothing to do with your liver. You need to see your GP, blood anywhere other in veins and arteries is not normal!
