my husbands platelet count is and has been really good at 277. I have heard elsewhere( not professionally but from an excellent source) that he is unlikely to have cirrhosis with this reading. He was diagnosed with decompensated cirrhosis earlier this year with many symptoms. He is almost back to being his normal self , thank goodness . Any advice would be appreciated, thank you

good platelet count
Unlikely but it can happen. The question is what was platelate level at the time of diagnosis - decompensated cirrhosis. I think current level is a good sign but it cannot alone be conclusive about current liver status. Good luck.
Thank you , most of his blood results are fine or just mildly out of range, although he is anaemic at the moment and on iron meds . At the time one registrar thought it was acute liver damage as he had cellulitis where the odema affected his tummy a little which they put down to mild acites hence another quoting decompensated.
Dear Moux1
Test results vary according to the individual's whole health and the laboratory analysing the results and should always be interpreted by your husbands health care professional.
We suggest talking this through with your husbands doctor or health care professional.
