Intrinsic factor antibody
I'm posting on here as I been advised to. I've just been back to my GP because I had a blood test done the other week for intrinsic factor antibody. I had a result of 3.66 which I thought was positive but my GP just said it's negative ? I had the test done because my vitamins b12 is 211.

Dont panic. All I could think of was Corporal Jones.
Hi everyone. Earlier today I had to go to the Post Office to renew my driving licence. Couldn't do it online as passport had expired. They take your old licence, payment and then take your photo. Made a proper spectacle of myself as I was literally gasping for air. The Post Office counter lady was

Still true that using same scan type is preferable to changing scan type?
Mr. Spouse 21, ten years since dx with Gleason 9 in 80% of cores, has only had bone and CT scans to track progression. That's how it was done in 2014. He's been stable since chemo with his current Eligard & Xgeva treatment--see full Profile for his record of Lupron, radiation, Zytiga (failed), Docetaxel

Slow Heart Rate
Does anyone else get episodes when their heart rate goes very low? I’m in AF the whole time and the only medication I’m on is propranolol. Since being AF my heart rate has increased but not massively and I tend to be around 80bpm. As far as I can tell my heart rate never goes above 100 unless with

Folic acid and b12
Hi all, I’m new here. I have low B12 (390 -180-900), but have been tested for pernicious anaemia and the test came back clear. I have low folic acid (3.4 -3.00-17.00) and was perscribed folic acid 5mg. I just read that taking folic acid when low in b12 can cause neurological symptoms. I was tested

Heart Rate Monitors
This may be a silly question but I'm a little confused. Whenever I see a doctor I'm often asked if I have a heart rate monitor and a blood pressure machine that can deal with AF. My BP machine can't detect AF but seems to be accurate otherwise when compared to readings at my GP. When it comes to heart

advice for docetaxel
I have read several posts of those who have done docetaxel and done a little research on the Internet and YouTube to try to offset side effects. I am 51 years old and was diagnosed five years ago with advanced prostate cancer Gleason score 9 and a few spots to the bones. pelvic area, spine and ribs.

PSMA scans and radiation of oligometastases
I need some advice on a subject that I know has been covered before: PSMA scans and radiation of oligometastases. G4+5=9, RP in 2014. Positive margins, IMRT and ADT in 2015. PSA undetectable until 2019, now slowly rising at 0.40, doubling time 11 months. My questions/concerns about the scan

Hiccups update.
A little while ago I posted seeking advice on my having developed hiccups after upping my dose of B1 to 2ml jabs twice a week. The hiccups morphed into violent convulsions after a while. As I pointed out, the traditional treatment for hiccups is incompatible with Levadopa. The less effective alternates

1st question re cardioversion
Hello everyone - I'm 68 and have had AF for about 2 years. Apart from a brief conversation re cardioversion and ablation when I was 1st diagnosed, none of the cardiologists I have seen have suggested that I should have cardioversion. I am currently taking 10mg of Bisoprolol a day in two 5mg tablets,

Do you know your heart rhythm?
Do you or a friend or family member experience chest pain, palpitations, shortness or breath or light-headedness? Do you know if you pulse is too fast, too slow or irregular? Did you know a simple pulse check only takes 30 seconds?

Started simple stretching today.
I'm 67, have a bad hip, first stage hypertension, am overweight (though have lost 10kg !) And am as stiff as a board. I had a complete knee replacement 18 months ago.I've started simple stretching today, with a view to continuing daily. This is a prelude to commencing an exercise routine, probably at
