Help! Has anyone experienced Post Operative Delirium??
Mum in law (56) had a total gastrectomy on Monday, with lower half of oesophagus removed too... She's been doing soooo well & been sat out of bed yesterday... Today she started talking very random things & unable to keep her eyes open.... It got worse as the day progressed & they've said it's related

Life without a stomach
Today it's six and a half years since I had a total Gastrectomy. Though I've lead a healthy life; non smoker, non drinker and been actively fit all my life, to learn I had cancer came as no surprise. Nothing much has shocked me in life, though of late I've discovered hidden facts about the parents and

Disappointing news
I was really pleased to be able to report that I had been told that there was now no inflammation in my liver, it was the Research nurse that told me a message from the doctor as I was not eligible for the RESOLVE-IT trial. My bloods were all within normal range and I was feeling over the moon. I had

Gastroscopy/Colonoscopy - Sedation or local anaesthetic spray?
Hi Guys, I have been having on-going gastro issues including abdominal pain, flatulence, fatigue, abnormal bowel (pellet like at first, now diarrhea or mixed and often with bright red blood), urgent need to empty bowel which often will just be mucus mixed with blood etc. I have finally received a letter

Gastroscopy/Endoscopy
I have a question I was hoping my CLL friends could help me with. As many of you already know I found out I had CLL when I went to the doctors back in September 2015 complaining of stomach pain. The doctors still haven't found why this was happening to me. Well after many tests and still no results

My Endo Story
I know posts really should be short, brief and to the point but I haven't really been in the position to express what I have been through and this forum seems the most appropriate way to off load. I started my period initially when I was 11/12 and then they ceased. I think this may have been (under)

GP Review
My GP saw me yesterday to discuss my progress since my IL in March. It was very thorough and looked at the scans and gastroscopy I had in June. Both were clear. I mentioned my breathing was occasionally difficult when sitting down but no problems when out walking. She demonstrated how my stomach was

My 3 ways of controlling RLS
Hi guys, so you probably already know what I'm about to say but I think I'm onto some good things here. There are many different causes of RLS so I've written a long list of all of them and I'm going to focus on addressing them. 1. Too much calcium, too little magnesium So I bet you've already heard

I had a full gastrectomy in July 2016..How often should I be having ct scans ? I am under the impression that it's every 3 months for the first 12 months post surgery .Is that correct ? Anyone know ?

Worst 2 months of my life... How did this happen? Where did this anxiety come from?
Hi all, I'm new here and this is my first post. I'm 27 year old man who is currently living through his worst 2 months of his life. I moved into a new apartment 1,5 years ago together with my girlfriend. I have a job on the university that I love. I have supportive family and girlfriend and I thought

Gastro Issues, fatigue, Vitamins Low
At last I have found some people who are experiencing some similar symptoms as me. I have not been well for around 30 months with fatigue, more frequent bowel movements (clear discharge in early hours of morning), brain fog, thick phlegm in throat, sromach very noisy, bad wind, muscle loss, hearburn

I had a full gastrectomy on July 13th at St James hospital Leeds . My journey has been relatively easy compared to some of the things I have read on this site that others have suffered . I have always tried very hard to keep a positive attitude which has been knocked at times but thanks to this site

Fed up
I haven't posted on here since we discovered my hubby wasn't a suitable candidate for transplant. He was prescribed riflaximin and lactulose which have saved my sanity. He is not well at the moment with an awful cough and despite taking both medicines yesterday he was very confused last night and very

Just had lap
I was diagnosed with endometriosis last year, since my first op, I was in pain 24/7. Fast forward going to the Endometriosis Clinic in August, where I had to have an MRI which showed up clear. I then had a follow up appointment where I had to literally fight my case to get this constant pain looked at
