I had a full gastrectomy in July 2016..How often should I be having ct scans ? I am under the impression that it's every 3 months for the first 12 months post surgery .Is that correct ? Anyone know ?

It varies. If you have a specific problem where a CT scan will help resolve the cause, then you will be given one according to individual circumstances. You will probably not get one at regular intervals simply for reassurance that cancer has not recurred. The follow up procedures tend to be tailored to the individual these days. Some people need more dietary and gastroenterological advice, rather than a scan, for instance.
The traditional system was for regular intervals, which sometimes meant that some patients thought that a routine scan coming up was an enormous milestone, and that a negative scan meant that they had been given an extra x months to live. It is not really like that, but some people need the reassurance of a negative scan and others do not. From a medical point of view they probably do not always need to do many scans.
If you think you may have some significant issue, then it is normally best to seek an appointment straight away and get it resolved rather than waiting a long time for a routine follow up appointment.
