Varices
Just had a
gastroscopy
which shows I have grade 2 varices. I have been started on beta blockers and will go back in 3 months for recheck and possible banding. Rather scary stuff! 3 questions: Does banding hurt?

Anxious wait for results update
I had my Barrett’s surveillance
gastroscopy
almost three weeks ago and a ‘lump’ was discovered. The results of my biopsy and CT scan are apparently back yet I am still non the wiser about what is happening.

IBS or Gastritis or HRT?
I’ve recently had a hysteroscopy, colonoscopy &
Gastroscopy
blood tests showed low ferritin levels &
Gastroscopy
showed ‘a thickened fold’ no idea what that means just got letter from consultant to say I need lanzoprazole 15mg twice a day for 5 weeks & ferrous fumarate for 3months.

New Member - Query re. B12 Injections Stopping B12 Getting To Cells Unless Serum B12 High
no reason to believe that I have PA, but - I'm a vegetarian; I take omeprazole daily due to Barrett's Oesophagus (and my B12, folate and ferritin levels were very low even before starting it); I had a sub-total thyroidectomy in 1985 due to Grave's Disease and my medication is not optimal; I had a

Suffering in silence
I have recently had a
gastroscopy
and colonoscopy, all clear. I am now waiting to see a rheumatologist to hopefully give me a diagnosis. *JUST REMEMBERED* I feel my symptoms can get worse when hormonal. My inflammation markers have always been high on blood tests.

Waiting for results and very anxious
Two days ago I underwent my second surveillance
gastroscopy
and knew by the amount of time they took doing the procedure that something wasn’t right. They took a great many biopsies and when it was all over told me they had found a ‘lump’ about midway in my oesophagus.

Still looking for answers and a diagnosis after 3 years - losing heart. Any ideas ?
Not sure where to go or what to do now : I do NOT have Coeliac disease - although I cannot find another reason for flattened mucosa in duodenum found during
gastroscopy
, blood tests have ruled it out now. All blood tests done were "normal" and I don't have any absorption problem.

Nausea and vomiting stopped by one B12 injection an indication of undiagnosed PA?
I have been having serious stomach issues for quite some time but no doctor investigations were carried out because I refused PPIs and a

GGT, ALT, ALP, BCAA and Glycine, coeliac disease and/or SIBO : anyone able to help with results ?
Gastroscopy
showed duodenum problems suggesting
coeliac disease
(flattened mucosal pattern in D1 and D2) although have not yet seen biopsy report yet for confirmation.

Gastroscopy question
What is the smallest amount of time I can eat gluten before
gastroscopy
? my letter says 8 weeks of gluten in every meal however I won't be able to do that without destroying myself and leaving myself unable to work. would 2 weeks have any affect or does it have to be this long?

Confused about Gastroscopy and Colonoscopy results
Had
gastroscopy
and colonoscopy yesterday.
Gastroscopy
revealed "..flattened mucosal pattern in D1 and D2: Coeliac ??" - and now waiting for results from samples taken to be tested. Colonoscopy revealed nothing more than internal haemarrhoids, although have had diarrhoea for 3 years.

Gastroscopy and colonoscopy, it says talk to doc if you have thyroid disease!!! Advice please!
I am having
gastroscopy
and colonoscopy on Tuesday. Reading notes for the preparation it says talk to doc or pharmacist if you have any of following, one being thyroid disease. I have had them before but not together and for me it is very painful.

Metabolics appointment yesterday- think I've been undiagnosed again ! Blood tests done: ??
I asked him about any feedback from the biopsies from the
gastroscopy
2 weeks ago, and he said he had them in front of him.

I have a Bowel problem, but cannot put a name to it ?
The previous year I had a Colonoscopy and a
Gastroscopy
and was found to have a Pepic ulcer and was put on Lanzprozal for it. All this was fairly straightforward until I discovered I eas not digesting my food.

New test results! And the GP said that is nothing to worry about...
And she wrote a letter to the haematologist with copies of my results saying: " parietal cell antibodies positive, intrinsic factor negative, B12 levels are normal" She did not care about my folate being very low and even b12 is normal range she said the haematologist and the

Do they always check for celiac when doing a gastroscopy?
I had a
gastroscopy
done a year ago to test for H. Pylori. There was no H. Pylori, but lately I'm starting to think it could be celiac. They didn't mention it though, so does this mean I'm don't have Celiac disease or can it also mean they just didn't test it?
