Well, I have a fun day coming up in a couple of weeks......a gastroscopy and a frontal sigmoidoscopy!!!

Who has had both of these procedures at the same time.....and should I go for sedation or keep awake through it!!

Andy.

Haha, you’re so right Laura!! I just wasn’t sure if I was just being a big wuss - but to be honest people can call me a wuss, I just don’t care!! 😜

😎 all I'd say is make sure someone takes you. You can't drive after sedation but I'm sure it says that in your letter

I had a gastroscopy and colonoscopy at the same time. I had light sedation and it was fine. I came home within an hour, had something to eat then went shopping. But I am a manc...and I'm 'ard me. 😄 I've taken my own stitches out in the past 😵

Hi Andy , I’ve had both done at same time using sedation, think the thought is worse than the actual procedure, but I wouldn’t do it without sedation , good luck but I’m sure you won’t need it 🌸

I've had both done without sedation, just local anaesthetic on the throat. No problems and I was able to drive myself home afterwards. I think it depends on how bad you think endoscopies are (in my view the evil one of the two! ). I hate them but would rather no sedation as I agree with Kate 50 - it is worse than the procedure!

When my Dr asked if I wanted sedation I replied "if you going to stick a pipe up there one of us is going to be asleep!"

He decided it best if I was the one going to be unconscious and he opted for a full anaesthetic😂
