Been a bit tied up with more issues!
So the post CABG recovery is still proving to be a bit of a slog. I spent some time dealing with acute pains in my left shoulder, neck, arm.. that settled and now I've pain in my right shoulder! I was already recovering from muscle and tendon problems after reacting badly to Ciprofloxacin 2 years ago

Keep on keeping on
Yesterday, made it into town &. back on foot. Not bad, cos return is uphill. Today is a day indoors, so aim to bop to side 5 of the 60s cd & to repeat cardiac workout warm up.....just the warm up at present !. Can't wait for next week, ECG & repeat blood tests to try to find cause for recent increase

Insurance advice
A 74 year old - had 4x CABG in 1999, cardiac arrest in 2013, now equipped with a couple of stents and an IC , is about to go to Rome and Florence. Any advice about a sensible and reasonably priced travel insurance company would be greatly appreciated,

Update on this long and complicated journey!
So, 5 plus years of PMR and still on 10.5 mgs. Pred, but the worst pain is from the OA I have developed during this time in both knees and my Right hip. The good news is that I now have a plan and this has really helped me to feel better and less overwhelmed by my pain. The local pain clinic are offering

Coronary artery bypass
Hi everybody, I am listed for a coronary bypass after an angiogram which showed three diseased vessels. Is bypass the right option and whats the benefit risks ratio? I have had stens inserted before in 2010.

Pleural effusion - lung drain
My Mum has not had an easy time of it since her heart attack in March; triple heart bypass, cardiac tamponade, AF, low BP, haemotoma resulting in debridement and VAC. Further to her second discharge she became increasingly breathless, and she has just had almost a litre of fluid drained from her lung

CABG Scar
Afternoon wise ones, I have a question about scarring post bypass op. 8 months (less two days) in I still have a raised red scar with what feels like a swollen mass of tissue at the bottom of my scar. I also have a few raised bumps which are feel like the metal from the ties at certain points either

AORTIC VALVE AND HEART BYPASS
Hi there I had an angiogram at Papworth yesterday and have been told I now need bypass surgery. I've known since February that I need an aortic valve replacement (have a bicuspid valve) and have an appointment with the surgeon on 18th August. I guess they will do both procedures at the same time. Anyone

Wound Care
Hi.. it's almost 2 weeks since my CABG was done and I'm still getting some oozing from the bottom of my wound. Is this normal? Should I be concerned it's still not dried up? I wouldn't say it's hor or sore particularly but of course I'm not a doctor.

CABG x 2 done
I'm home! Having spent almost 3 weeks in hospitals over the last month I'm pleased to be home. The CABG was done on the 11th July in the end and they did x2 bypasses. The surgeon used both mammary arteries so I have got any healing in the leg and arms. It wasn't all plain sailing post operation though

Weight loss surgery and anti-coagulants for A-fib
i'm advised to start taking an anti-coagulant but i had stomach surgery (
gastric
bypass
) in 1998. There is an issue with absorption of some medications and nutrients. Need to know if anyone on the forum with a-fib has had stomach surgery and what are they taking for stroke risk reduction?

Another cancelled CABG operation
Second NHS cancelation for me. Attended hospital, waited 4 hours in ward dayroom, no bed. Next day back at 0730 hours, waited 7 hours in same dayroom. Next to no contact from hospital staff, until a matron broke the bad news. No ICU bed available, previous operation took longer plus an emergency needed
