Medication for PCOS
Just over a year ago I had a
gastric
bypass
and have lost a significant amount of weight. Since then my periods have become very irregular, I feel like my excess hair has got worse and my moods are all over the place.

Sternum Non-Union worries
HI everyone. 3 weeks ago I had my sternum rewired as it was clicking and clearly not joining after my CABG x3. The surgeon said the wires had pulled through my soft bones so he used a cable tie system for the second attempt. Whilst I realise it is early days, I do still feel some popping and clicking

Gastric bypass and now Hashimoto's
Hello, I am a
gastric
bypass
patient (about 10 years) with very good success except for some malabsorption issues from time to time. Now I am suddenly diagnosed with Hashimotos disease and wondering if anyone else who is post-bypass has this issue?

Why Cholesterol does not cause Heart Disease
The latest informative post from Dr Kendrick, a must read for all What causes heart disease part XXXVI (part thirty-six) by Dr. Malcolm Kendrick 5th September 2017 Wipe your mind clear of all previous ideas about CVD. About as easy as standing in the corner and not thinking about a tiger. In reality

More news... you couldn't make this up
So the recovery continues slowly and not as well as I'd hoped but I do believe my existing issues from the Ciprofloxacin adverse reaction are making it worse. Then a week ago I went to the GP because I'd found a lump in the left side of my chest. Of course I was a little anxious and after the GP examined

B12 low, treated but...
I had
gastric
bypass
surgery 10 years ago, so this didn't completely surprise me (B12 issues), however it was never completely explained to me the gravity of what that could mean.

18 years ago. Absorption of nutrients and meds is compromised. I have afib since 2007 and supposed to take an anticoagulant due to: female, over 65, high blood pressure (controlled by lisinopryl). After researching for a long time i started taking Eliquis.

Not so bad.....
Pleased to report that mammogram was bearable, in fact a lot less painful than when last taken, barely 2 years post CABG. Thence to GP. Heart rate better, but alas, BP still on the high side. I'm to return to see doctor for a medication review....treated myself to home made soup for lunch in local café

Looking for help and guidance on starting T3 only
As per my previous posts, some of these I have to take lifelong due to having a
gastric
bypass
which means I do not absorb sufficient amounts from food (ie the b vits, zinc, iron, calcium).

Coronary artery bypass
Hi everybody, I am new to the forum. In brief I had a heart attack in 2010 then went on to have stents inserted to main arteries, that actually helped to stop chest pain. Recently I had an angiogram which showed three diseased main vessels. The cardiologist referred me for bypass surgery. Is this the

DVLA
Just renewed my car insurance but I have heart valve disease - due a replacement aortic valve and heart bypass soon. Should I inform DVLA? Am I correct that I'm not allowed to drive for 3 months after the op? Any advice greatly appreciated - I see the surgeon on 18th August. Cheers Phil

Do you 'beep' at the airport?
I am just curious, as I was told that the chest bone was wired up after surgery so wondered if any of you who have been on holiday after surgery have set off the metal detectors at the airport and will a 'heart bypass' comment suffice? :-)

5 1/2 weeks post CABG and still PVCs etc..
My most annoying post CABG issue is problems with ectopic beats/PVCs etc.. I get them everyday and not little ones you hardly notice, they are frequent and quite distracting. Sure I have soreness still in my chest which I expected since I had a double mammary artery bypass but these premature and missed

Been a bit tied up with more issues!
So the post CABG recovery is still proving to be a bit of a slog. I spent some time dealing with acute pains in my left shoulder, neck, arm.. that settled and now I've pain in my right shoulder! I was already recovering from muscle and tendon problems after reacting badly to Ciprofloxacin 2 years ago
