CONGESTIVE HEART FAILURES
Hello I am new to this forum and this is my first post. I hope that this post does not upset anyone or cause any offence. Sorry it is quite long as well. My partner died 3 weeks ago of congestive heart failure. He was 77. He had not said anything to me about feeling unwell. He had a quadruple bypass

All Fired Up
Hi I have been watching the BBC Race Across the World from London to Singapore without using Air Transport. This has fired me up to consult Maps of Europe and to see where we can travel without Planes. So looking at Ferry to France ( we live near to Poole ) then drive through France to Holland heading

Any advice, tips and tricks?
Starting the couch to 5k today as I’m tired of my body shape. Office life has taken me from a six pack to a virtual planetoid. There are two major problems I’m facing which I hope someone with a soft touch might be able to help me with. 1. When I run, my gut bounces up and down and is very uncomfortable

I have been sent a copy of a letter from a consultant cardiac surgeon to a consultant cardiologist about a suggested heart bypass for me He describes me as "this 79 year old" which seems to me to be saying "is it really worth it?" An earlier letter from another consultant cardiologist to the GP describes

Advise and suggestions welcome
Any ideas/suggestions welcome: my mum is in Oxford awaiting bypass surgery. No date yet. The journey is really hard on my dad physically, and financially. The hospital has no family accommodation. I've driven him for several days from here (it's even further from here). Hotels and Air BnBs are all beyond

ARE WE EVER GOING TO BE DRUG FREE
After reading the posts this morning, the one on "cold hands and feet" where someone raised an issue I had indeed thought of before but without any knowledge of. After a heart procedure - mine a CABG - will I ever become drug free?

CREATION - Food for thought.
In the beginning God created the Heavens and the Earth and populated the Earth with broccoli, cauliflower and spinach, green and yellow and red vegetables of all kinds, so Man and Women would lead live long and healthy lives. Then using God’s great gifts. Satan created

stopping medication
The GP has told me that if I have the recommended bypass surgery it should mean the end to my medication Currently I am on beta-blockers, statins, nitrates, bloodthinners (Apixaban) and anti-coagulants (Clopidogrel) This followed what must have been a mild heart attack last July and a visit to A&E The

POST CABG AF RECIVERY.
Hi I had a CABG X2 and a mitral repair on 19 Feb 2019. 11 days post Op I developed AF. I am on a Beta Blocker and Blood thinner. The cardiologist has mentioned a cardio aversion if the medication doesn’t stabilise the heart rhythm and high pulse. Does anyone have experience of Cardio. Aversion

Cancelled CABG (again and again and .......)
I deleted my last post as I thought, on reflection, it was too much of a rant and too negative content, when others have their own problems to deal with. But here I am again. I've had 5 separate dates for surgery since begining of February, twice I've actually been in hospital, prepped and all ready

Heart Conditions and Mental Health
Just a comment I have read a few posts in the last few days in which the posters clearly have Mental Health Issues, and obviously need help in overcoming these issues. I have been to 2 different Cardiac Rehabs, both NHS ( reason CABG & Stents 3 years later) + Heart Disease. When I arrived at both of
