The state of NASH & Liver Cirrhosis for me in 2023
Eight years ago now (wow has it really been that long?) My NASH journey began with a big bang... Five years ago I posted THIS https://healthunlocked.com/fatty-liver-nash/posts/137898399/coping here on this site which may give you a little background. My memory tends to get a little foggy on details

what to say to husband before surgery…♥️
Doe anyone have any tips for what to say to my husband before his bypass surgery, hopefully next week? He is very emotional and scared as the surgery is risky and outcome unknown. I’m terrified but want to be there for him and don’t want to say the wrong thing. Thank you ♥️❤️🩹🙏

Banging my head against a brick wall
I am feeling so tired and breathless. Just had a telephone appointment, my year follow up after ablation with a nurse, I haven’t once seen or heard from a doctor apart from the day of ablation to sign consent. I have since ablation, had a CABG because of triple vessel disease all through my private health

Partners of patients how do you cope? I’m falling apart
My husband 62 yo is awaiting quad bypass surgery at the BHI currently. Long story short, scans show he had a massive heart attack at some point and didn’t notice and it’s really damaged his heart. The bypass team are reluctant to do surgery as it’s risky. Professor Angelini has said he wants to do and

UTI’s post CABG
Hi all, my husband is 14 weeks post triple bypass. He’s recovered incredibly well however he has had persistent UTI’s since. He’s been on antibiotics several times but it doesn’t seem to be clearing up. He’s calling the doctor again today but I was wondering if anyone else had experienced this? Thank

Getting back to fitness following CABG
Triple bypass 9 weeks ago. Up until a few months before surgery and when I knew there was a problem, I was training everyday at the gym doing CrossFit etc. At the moment I am walking everyday 3-5 miles each day but am now itching to do more. My breathing is good when walking but not when going upstairs

AF after eating
Had a triple bypass last Monday. Surgery went well. And bounced in and out of CICU and HDU, deposited on the ward and left with my swirling thoughts. My recovery was going well. On the Wednesday night, I treated myself to some ice cream for a desert on the hospital menu. Two spoons in, I felt a weird

Hi all, thought I might share my recent experience.I am a 58year old male, never smoked, always been active (lots of football) eat healthily and don't consider myself to have suffered from anxiety or stress. On 28th April I had a heart attack whilst playing 5 a side football. Wasn't sure it was a heart

Triple Bypass
Long story short, which I guess is similar to others. I’m being scheduled for a CABG. Triple bypass by the looks of things. Initially, a bit scared. Worried about my future. The standard gamut of emotions which are swirling around my mind. I guess I have a couple of questions. What’s the surgery

7 Week Review after CABG
7 weeks since I had the CABG x 4... went in for a review with my consultant. Soooo glad I had read up on here, and had the Cardio Rehab assessment beforehand, and had made notes of the questions a needed answers too. It was brutally efficient - [i]yep your op was a success, you can do anything, and
