Inflamed cuts/wounds
Is it the Pred or old age that makes it difficult to treat inflamed wounds? I always healed very well but now, even if I only catch myself on something, or even if I get a bad spot, things take ages to heal. I use antiseptic cream, cover the open wound with sterile pads but they take weeks (sometimes

Vitamin D in winter months
Vitamin D2 is ingested from a healthy balanced diet and can be derived from everyday foods such as: Egg yolks and fatty fish like; trout, mackerel, salmon or tuna, as well as cod liver oil, or fortified milk, juices and cereals. Vitamin D3 however, is most efficiently produced when our skin is exposed

Kissed baby with a cold sore
Hi all, I have a cold sore in the corner of my lip, and accidentally kissed my 2-week old baby on the cheek last night when I got up to feed him, I was very sleepy and didn't control my actions well. I had a special plaster on the sore, and don't think the affected area actually touched my baby, but

Thyroidectomy / symptoms query
Hi everyone, It's been just over 3 years since I've been diagnosed with Graves Disease. After my first taper down of Carbimazole it wasn't long after dropping to 5mg EOD that I relapsed. My endocrinologist in the NHS said now it's happened once it's pretty much guaranteed it would happen again and again

Wondering…
Just wondering if these mouth sores ( have three, and now I have a cold sore on the outside top lip where the sore are inside my lip that is not painful or the usual tingling feeling you get with a cold sore), a sign that my immune system is acting up? Wouldn’t Plaquenil stop this from happening? Been

Foot Cooling/Heating
No, I don't do HVAC. My daughter, who has CMT, tried out a pair of Medicmac Hot and Cold Therapy socks to help with the burning in her feet. She said they helped immensely, so I thought I'd pass her review on here. I just ordered some NatraCure Hot/Cold socks to use for my alternating burning/icy

How do you manage?
Living w/chronic pain most of my life. Opioids don't work for me, spinal cord stimulator helps. Exercise + mindfulness help also. I have use of a pool twice-weekly but must use rollator to help me walk. Pain care is mostly private and restricted in ROI, so very expensive! What access do you have to help

Don't lose heart - you'll come through
Meant to write this for ages. This forum really helped 3-4 years ago when I got VERY ill & low, lost my job & livelihood, fell out with my family & became very unstable. I'm still on a low dose of carbimazole & still not back to pre-illness energy levels but thankfully I am SOOO much better! Bizarre
