Normally if going out somewhere , I would take Imodium as a safety measure , then get bunged up and have pain , then take
Fybogel
to get to loo for relief. Often needed to get to loo urgently , particularly after eating.

IBS ruining my life
I suffer with the constipation constantly but take
Fybogel
for that I've tried Mebeverine, Buscopan and my GP recently prescribed Audmonal and none of them seem to work. I know which foods trigger it off and avoid them like the plague.

Should I see a private GI specialist? What are your experiences? (UK)
My GP has been really good to me - I've have had various tests (blood tests to check for inflammation, anaemia, celiac, etc which, other than low iron, all came back fine) and have tried several medications over the months (senna, Laxido,
Fybogel
, mebeverin, amitriptyline, milk of magnesia, lactulose

Ongoing nausea and stomach discomfort accompanied by differing bowel movements
I took
Fybogel
for an extended period of time to try and resolve this and it worked initially, however I no longer take it and my bowel movements are still irregular. I go around 4-5 times a day on average. There doesn’t seem to be any pattern with anything.

seems to give me a lot of painful wind while Lacido works but can make me go too far the other way and makes me feel ill..At the moment I'm feeling really depressed and don't know what to do, what to take or eat etc. Are pro biotics good for constipation?

Pain in lower stomach on the right
I have taken a
fybogel
and loads of water,I was going to go to the doctors , but I don't feel up to it at the moment. Can ibs or wind pains cause extreme pain on the lower right I have examined my self and the area is tender and painful to touch.

antidepressants for constipation/bloating
I have tried various things for constipation (mebeverine, magnesium citrate,
fybogel
, psyllium) and some of them have worked on and off but never reliably and i know deep down that the cause of all this is anxiety/brain-gut connection and I was wondering whether antidepressants would help with this?

Fibre supplements
If not, would using both
fybogel
and magnesium citrate in conjunction with each other work?

My GP has given me
fybogel
and i've had it for 2 days now - hard to tell if it is working (i had a nice BM yesterday so maybe it is) but anyway it's causing me a lot of painful tummy crampage - has anyone used this and know how long it takes to adjust to it?

No Lactalose
Hey everyone, something also worth mentioning, the gastroenterologist told me that as well as no
fybogel
, lactalose is a complete waste of time and isn't great for the bowel with sufferer's like us, hinders more than helps.

Fybogel mebeverine.
Wondering if it might be better to have
fybogel
with mebeverine to counter the discomfort I am still getting, instead of the buscopan tablets? Does anyone know if these
fybogel
are similar to the mebeverine tablets in that you oughtn't to take them continuously?

Right side pain
I am taking antibiotics (day 3 today) and
fybogel
as the Dr's best guess is it is IBS/diverticulitis although she doesn't really know. Possibly appendix although not classic symptoms. The pain becomes unbearable as the day goes on and I have to take a lot of painkillers.

Hints and tips for what has helped me with my IBS-D!
Fybogel
- one sachet a day! i will be taking this for my entire life i think! But rice and bananas and oats are also a great source of soluble fibre! Fingers crossed everyone feels better soon! and try to stay positive! I think state of mind has a big part to play in a lot of cases of IBS!
