Next Steps? Radium 223 or Jevanta (Cabazitaxel) - HELP - NEED ADVICE.
My friend is 56. Already gone thru Chemo (docetaxal), provenge, zytiga and xandi. MO wants him to start chemo which he doesnt want to do (again) and wants to know thoughts from others. Success (O.S) statistics with Radium 223? Running out of options. His PSA is rising but still low at .7 and imaging

Friday round-up
On a personal level, my sister had her op on Monday, and although she's still in pain of course, it's less now that her
fractures
have been reduced, and my nieces are caring for their dad, so everything's under partial control for now anyway. That's the thing with crises.

Update 2: Chemo (docetaxel) + hormonotherapy
Hi everyone, So, last Friday, 9/11, my father did a blood collection and a bone scan (scintigrapgy). In the previous week, he had a CT scan (we still don't know the results). My father had scheduled another appointment with his oncologist for tomorrow. She called him today to communicate that there

Advice on ankle support/brace please
Had facial xrays and no
fractures
. However, even though I've still got constant headaches, it's my ankle that's still giving problems. The bruising (which covered the entire outside of my foot and across the front to my toes) is fading and the swelling is easing, but it's still painful to touch.

How's your whiskers after ADT?
I've been on Casodex and Eligard for about 10 months now. My beard has virtually stopped growing and my skin is pushing out ingrown hairs. I was wondering how others on ADT are fairing with their whiskers, 🤔 DD.

GCA patient, with tapering issues after 4 years
I have been getting more mobile, and pushing it too much after recovering from 3 compression
fractures
and kyphoplasties to fix them. I went out on a very hot day for 3 hours, and then stayed up in wheelchair additional 6 hours. Unfortunately the flareup was very painful!!

Hello & Thanks for Sharing your Stories
Neither made the connection that a 62 year old woman suffering two veritable
fractures
from a low impact fall just might perhaps have Osteoporosis? We’ve a long way to go! Inspiring and informative to read of others stories on this site.

Poker Legend Succumbs to Prostate Cancer
I was shocked to learn of Mike Sexton's passing from prostate cancer at age 72. Anyone who has had a serious interest in poker or who has watched poker on TV is probably familiar with him. https://www.cnn.com/2020/09/07/us/mike-sexton-death-poker-trnd/index.html https://www.pokernews.com/news/2020/09

12 consolidation runs and a PB! (And a q on rest days)
Been trying to make sure I take my rest days and have managed 12 consolidation runs since my graduation on 15 August. Have mostly stuck with 5k with about 4 5mile runs thrown in too! Didn’t realise how quickly I’d set off and had to double check I wasn’t reading it wrong but 7.44 for my first mile! WOO

Week 8 Run 1
Not sure how to describe todays run. The start of a new week for me, week 8 and I have 2 takes on it 1) it was hard, my legs hurt early on, I did actually think it would beat me this morning. It felt sluggish and not particularly enjoyable 2) I did it, I ran, albeit super slow, for 28 minutes. My mind

MRI shows lesions. My last PSA was 0.34. What the f---.
Last Monday ER visit for severe back pain which diminished in a few days. MRI on Thursday results were expected but not the lesions. Past and current MRI. Current: A 9 x 8 mm enhancing T2 hyperintense lesion is present in the T8 vertebral body (series 18, image 7) and a 12 x 8 mm enhancing T2

An observational study of 400 patients with a mean follow-up of ∼9 years did not indicate increased mortality or morbidity risk due to cardiovascular disease, atrial fibrillation, or

after adjusting for age when compared with patients taking only LT4.

Bone density loss with methotrexate?
I’ve had horrific spiral comminuted open
fractures
of my tibia and fibula following low impact missed my foot/fell to the ground that shouldn’t cause those injuries. I cannot get a dexa/bone density scan thanks to Covid.
