I was recently diagnosed with arthritis in my ankles, had an episode where I ended up on the floor in my bedroom, home alone, couldn't get up for 13 hours until help was called. My kidneys failed and I was confused to the point that I couldn't figure out how to use my phone to call for help.
Finally my housemate called for rescue and I went to hospital. Had pneumonia, sepsis and compression fractures in my spine. From August 9 through the 28th I was in hospital then rehab, I am home again, thankfully.

I did not fall, not really sure how I managed to get stuck on the floor but with upper body weakness and knee replacements and some confusion I could not figure out how to get up off the floor.
Oh WOW Sharon , I am so sorry you have been going through so much and still going through more things than I can wrap my head around. I hope you feel a little better now your back in your own home (((HUGS)))
Thank you for your kindness. It was touch and go for a while and I was a bit scared. They wanted to put me in Intensive Care on a ventilator at the hospital but I declined, Oxygen was sufficient with IV antibiotics, after a week I showed enough improvement to be moved to a nursing facility
Do you know if it is a ‘common’ problem after knee replacements that if you fall you are unable to pull yourself up?
I have had both knees, both hips and both shoulders replaced due to arthritis. It is impossible for me to get up off of the floor inside or outside off of the ground. I have fallen five times and my wife has to call for assistance from the paramedics or the ambulance service and then taken to hospital for treatment.
