Been trying to make sure I take my rest days and have managed 12 consolidation runs since my graduation on 15 August. Have mostly stuck with 5k with about 4 5mile runs thrown in too! Didn’t realise how quickly I’d set off and had to double check I wasn’t reading it wrong but 7.44 for my first mile! WOO HOO! Not been below 11mins before!
Lead me to a 4 minute improvement to my 5k time of 31.47! Sub 30 minutes here I come!
PS. Struggle taking rest days as trying to lose weight and the calorie burn is hard to resist. Been trying the exercise bike on days off, as this is low impact is it a safe alternative for non-run days?

Great time Gaily23 👏🏻👏🏻you’re definitely going to get that sub 30 5k soon, took me quite a few runs but I got there in the end and it felt amazing. I’ve been using the Nike Run Club App lately, which has a nice choice of runs of various distances and times, you get a coach too to listen to in between your own music tracks, just like C25k and it’s free 😁 give it a go 👍 I’ll look forward to reading about your sub 30 5k post soon 🏃♀️⏱
Thanks, might give it a go. Bizarrely, this was the only time I’ve run without music as rushed out without my headphones. The tunes must slow me down 😉. Having looked at the data I seem to have had a sudden increase in stride length from 75 to 91 so that must be where the increase came from. Cadence was about the same 👍🏻
