After Forteo

has anyone been on Forteo for two years and then not taken anything else afterwards? I am interested in knowing if they experienced bone loss after Forteo with no additional meds I do not want to take any more medication but I am told I will lose any gains if I don’t

AFTER FORTEO

Has anyone taken Fosamax after Forteo with good results instead of going on Prolia? Also, has anyone taken Prolia and not have side effects? all we hear are the horror stories, there must be some good stories. Is it because people who are doing well don’t go on the website?

The risk of doing nothing

The Forteo improved my bone density in my spine by 22% and hips by 7%. I would not be afraid to take Forteo,I wish I could do it for another two years. My mother also had osteoporosis severely, took Fosamax for a while, then stopped due to side effects. She had dowagers hump, etc.

Evenity versus Forteo/Tymlos

It is a relatively new drug so I am not as comfortable with it as compared to Forteo or Tymlos. For those who have tried Forteo or Tymlos, did they help with the bone density in your hips as well as the spine? Thank you!

prednisone, methotrexate, forteo

I finally decided to face my fear and go on the bone med Forteo. I have a total of 8 fractures. I was very surprised as my dexa scan had improved considerably. The last fractures were so bad I didn’t want to move because it was So painful. Not moving got me into all sorts of trouble.

Looking for guidance

One endo recommended prolia, the other one wants me on either forteo or tymlos or evenity. I have not researched any of these meds, but evenity has a box warning that it can increase risk of death from cardiovascular problems.

Severe Osteoporosis - Understanding the scan report and treatment

He said my choices were: Prolia once a month for 2 years (he does not recommend this) Forteo - daily injection for 2 years or Evenity - once a month for a year He also told me to start taking calcium and Vit D daily. Not very kind to my touchy GI. There was no mention of diet or exercise.

Travel with Forteo

I have 5 vials of Forteo. How do I keep it cool enough. Is it a hassle getting it in the plane. Do I need anything to travel with it. The needles will be in suitcase. Thank you

Update re Forsteo funding stopped.

Dear Friends, At last after a very worrying couple of weeks, Margaret has the result that sadly we’ve had to fight for. We have had wonderful assistance from the nurses on The ROS helpline, throughout and today was no different. What was also no different today, was the conflicting information we were

(PART 5) Update re Forsteo suddenly stopped.

Dear friends, After several ‘phone calls over the past few days, we are hopefully starting to make some slow progress. Thank you all, for your kind advice and suggestions, all of which are now stored in our armoury and some of which have been acted on. The very helpful ladies at the ROS set about

Label Change on Forteo (teriparatide) for those who might have missed the news from the FDA and Eli Lilly

“I thought it might be helpful to post the Label Change on Forteo (teriparatide) for those who might have missed the news from the FDA and Eli Lilly. We can now take it beyond the two year limit that was originally on it from the manufacturer and the FDA.

Eye watering

I had my acoustic neuroma surgery in 2018. I have been using Hylo Forte eye drops to keep my eye moist. Surgery was performed on right side and my right eye has always been good. But from past two days that eye is constantly watering. Does anyone know why?

Forteo

Side effects of Forteo? Does your insurance pay for Forteo? See dr. next week, I'm pretty sure she will put me on this drug. I'm very nervous about this. Also, how often do you need to see the dr. while on treatment? I have a high copay for this dr. Sigh........

Almost 1 year on FORTEO

I have been taking Forteo since January, and have had zero side effects. I am scheduled to see my doctor and have a DEXA scan early next year to see results of increased bone mass (hopefully!).
