Has anyone used Forteo for osteoporosis? My husband’s PCP recommended it. She said it builds bone. Any reason not to?

Hi everyone, I have severe osteoporosis, and was told that I need to start daily Forteo injections for 2 years to build up my bone. Has anyone here experienced adverse effects on RLS due to osteoporosis meds? Thanks for any information you may care to share!

My new dexa came back worse than the last one, and this is after 2 years on Forteo. Now I have to take reclast and that is very scary. After 9 years of dealing with this,and many fractures, I am very tired of it all. How much can a person take🫨 Sorry for the rant

I have no choice, I must try and save the bone I gained with the forteo. I wish 9 years ago I would have gone on the bone meds. I was just too afraid of them🤔 I can’t afford to make the wrong decision this time. Thank you for your responses.

Has anyone used Reclast after Evenity or Forteo ( in used 2016-2018). I also used Prolia from 2019 - 2023. I’m in the USA. I appreciate your input based on your experience with these treatments. Thank you

During the trials for Forteo what percentage of the patients developed bone cancer and what type of bone cancer did they develop? Also has anyone taken it longer than 2 years?

I will have a bone biopsy in a couple of weeks to see if I should be taking Proleia, or Forteo. I would like to avoid medication but maybe I should take it. Any helpful comments most appreciated! Varb

My question is has anyone had this drug brand name Sondlebay and is it different with different side effects to Forteo. Also what are the most common side effects.

you guys, needed a rest from the boards plus looking after my Mum, and i have exhaustion illness. i'm aghast at the lack of medical knowledge on these drugs by docs and specialists, and inaccessibility of them for appointments. my Mum's endo cancelled her appointments. he had total ignorance about forteo

I had trouble with Forteo. All of my doctors feel that at this point, i really need to take it. i would appreciate any input. Healing hugs.

Has anyone had good (or bad) luck with Forteo daily shots? I am still having fractures while on Prolia shots, so they want me to "upgrade" to Evenity or Forteo. I have a fair amount of input on Evenity, but none on Foreo. Any input would be appreciated.

I took Forteo for two years, but then it was in 2010 and they didn’t now put me on something else afterwards so I lost all the bones that I had gained. I’ve had two years of re-classed but my bone density is not getting any better. It is getting worse so now they recommended this drug.

Any tips on reducing the cost of Forteo, Tymlos, Evenity, or Prolia in the USA? Someone on another site posted that she orders her Tymlos injections through CVS and they are free. She hasn’t replied as to how she was able to accomplish that. Thanks for your help.
