Never quite sure whether this kind of post is cheering or just annoying, but, hey, it might cheer someone up and the rest can move swiftly on. In March 2014 I was diagnosed with 3a OC, with a CA125 of 3,900-ish and the BRCA1 gene. Had a total hysterectomy and weekly carbo/taxol on ICON8. Now I’m 77

Why Self Care is so important in managing your IBS…
My story starts with having being diagnosed with IBS seven years ago and I will have to be honest, it hasn't been an easy journey so far. However, for the past three months I have successfully kept my IBS symptoms at bay through Self Care. I will explain a little later what I mean by 'Self Care' but

Recent exacerbation of PLMD
Hi everyone. I’ve been on Pregabalin for 10 months after coming off Pramipexole. I’m taking 350mg around 8:30pm but have given up trying to go to bed before 11:30-midnight. Whilst RLS is well controlled, the PLMD isn’t. Most recently I am now getting PLMD as soon as or shortly after I get into bed. Sleep

Two-Week Checkpoint: No Progress
It has been two weeks since my declaration and I haven't lost a pound. I think I have developed an eating disorder because I am very pressured at home (studious family atmosphere LOL). I eat well during the day, every meal is balanced & low-cal, and then after 8 pm, I just can't resist a value pack of

Selegeline/RBD?
It's often said that all of the treatments currently in use for Parkinson's offer symptomatic relief only, and do not affect underlying pathology. However, a recent study suggests selegeline use impacts white matter microstructure and could be neuroprotective. I know white matter abnormalities have been

A bit shell shocked by Hysterectomy recommendation
I was originally diagnosed with Endo in 2007 after a diagnostic laparoscopy. In 2015 my symptoms started to rear up again but I kept putting off going to see someone. Last year the heavy bleeding and pain got so bad I went private to see someone and had a further laparoscopy in December 2023. During

Tardive dyskinesia. Been on the causative med quetiapine 400 mg for 20 years.Unable to get off it. Been creative. I am a registered nurse.
I am an inpatient acute mental health nurse actually - for the last 15 years. I also have Bipolar disorder on lithium. Very well controlled. But side effects of quetiapine were becoming impossible to live with. I tried aripiprazole and a reduction in quetiapine to a disastrous effect. I appeared severely

My experience with mental health and First Episode Psychosis.
The way in which acute Psychosis can affect your life is so overwhelming that I thought I’d write a piece to spread awareness and combat the stigmatization that this symptom of mental health illness has in our society. I have had a few years of struggles with anxiety, panic attacks and depression,

Dealing with Shame & Anxiety
I experienced PPP about 6 months ago. They debated if it was truly PPP or a new diagnosis of bipolar. I personally believe it was PPP anyways, I absolutely humiliated myself and so many people had to get involved to get me to agree to be hospitalized. I had crazy delusions and honestly went absolutely

Peginterferon and nightmares
Just wondering if anyone has experienced nightmares whilst take peginterferon alpha 2a. I have noticed some sleep disturbance and last week, my 8th injection, I was asked to increase dose to 90. My platelets had dropped since starting on 45 from 864 to 706 but still high. After my 2nd 90 dose I am experiencing

I’m out of things to try and feeling very desperate . Does anyone have any experience with either of these treatments? I’m truly suffering and I’m not sure how much more I can take. I’ve tried so many medications and alternative therapies I’m very lonley and I’m worried my depression will never stop.
