Excellent low FODMAP info available from the NHS at last.
My dietitian at Winchester has just sent me some very comprehensive, fresh-off-the-printing-press literature on the low
FODMAP
diet. These booklets (3 in total) will make it so much easier for we fodmappers than having to try and find our way around lists of Australian and American foodstuffs.

I'm at my wits end. My GP won't support the fodmap diet as its not recognised in the UK and I'm trying to do it in my own.
I thought I'd start with reducing the candida in my stomach, another thing she won't support, and the information in the Internet is so contradictory. I'm not sure that I'm doing it right or when I can expect to feel any better. My GP thinks I'm neurotic and it's really knocked my confidence. But I'm

Does anyone else have a problem with rice and/or oats?
I'm on a low
FODMAP
diet which gives me 90% control of my IBS. However, I find that I have a very bad flare-up (pain, wind and diarrhoea) if I eat rice or oats no matter how they're served.

Does anyone know what is in glucose syrup that can irritate me?
Today I cooked a really nice shepherd's pie (
FODMAP
style as I am on day 14 of this). It was just minced beef, stock and mashed potato. To make it tastier I used a stock cube that said on the packet it was gluten free.

Help with the FODMAP app
I paid £7 to download the
FODMAP
diet on my iPhone. It asked me to put on a scale certain things I am sensitive too. So I just put them all as super sensitive as I didn't know what some of these things were.

Why do you have to be on the FODMAP diet for 6-8 weeks?
Hello, despite fantastic advice from people I am struggling big time on this
FODMAP
diet. It is now Day 8 and I have now discovered I am unable to eat eggs (at least I think it is egg yolks).

Is following FODMAPS difficult?
She was really helpful and understanding and suggested I follow
FODMAP
diet which I agreed to. It seems this is the trend now for people with digestive disorders. I was given a
FODMAP
(booklet copyright Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS) with explanations, FODMAPs, instructions and nice pictures in.

I am struggling with a bad flare up of ibs after trying the fodmap diet (on my own as my GP had not heard of it) for the last two weeks.
Also, about the
fodmap
diet, how long should it be until I start to reintroduce foods?

Hooray for the FODMAPs diet!
It seems that the best thing to do is to cut out everything that appears in common on the appropriate advisory sites and, if you get an improvement, but still have some residual problems, Google the foods you think might be affecting you adversely to check on their
FODMAP
levels - you'll usually find

St Marks Hospital, Middlesex-anyone been referred there?
I have been through every test you can name plus dietary advice (including
FODMAP
) with no success. The only things I eat are plain boiled potatoes and grilled lean meat (no seasoning) and drink only water.

I'm also going to try the
Fodmap
diet, but I'm not that hopeful, having tried all sorts of diets in the past. I'll let you know how I get on.

I seem to be recovering from a recent flare-up of IBS and wanted to share things that have helped!
I also came across the
Fodmap
diet, I read 'IBS - free at last' and over the past two weeks removed some of the suggested food groups (garlic/onions, wheat, lactose). I am feeling SO much bette - a significant improvement.
