Day four
I have been reading up on
fodmap
and found some interesting information. For anyone interested. https://www.healthline.com/nutrition/fodmaps-101 I guess really at the end of the day it is all about what works for you. I wonder how much the
fodmap
played a part this time around for me. Cheers

IBS struggle
I eat low
FODMAP
dinners most days and have low
FODMAP
lunches when I'm at work. I take biomel powder in my banana and peanut butter smoothie twice a day. I am on alverine citrate twice a day, but I just constantly feel bloated, constipated, gassy and just fat in general.

The GP tells me to look at a
Fodmap
diet. I have been on a waiting list for over a year for a dietician to help with my ibs but nothing yet. I keep food journals and so know for certain some foods that trigger me, but has anyone used
fodmap
and it be successful for them?

Low-carb diet
Here's something that says that a low-carb diet may be helpful for IBS: https://www.npr.org/sections/shots-health-news/2024/05/30/g-s1-372/ibs-treatment-diet-low-
fodmap
-carb I've been following one for other reasons, and it seems to be working pretty well for me.

Low fodmap foods and seasonings
He's been trying low
fodmap
, which is fine unless you enjoy using garlic and onion to season, which we do. I'm hoping someone can suggest flavorful alternatives...

New to this website and am looking for some advice :)
I have already tried going gluten and lactose free, it didn't make a difference, I have tried the
FODMAP
diet, it didn't make a difference. I just feel like I'm at a loss here. I have done everything the doctors have suggested but no matter what, my stomach reacts to everything.

IBS? but with no bowel symptoms
I have been trying to cut out foods one by one from the
FODMAP
list to see if any difference is noticeable. I do not have noticeable diarrhoea or constipation. When I have pain it varies from a grumble and low pain .. to severe where I cannot sleep or sit comfortably.

IBS - anyone with similar experience?
He recommended trying
fodmap
diet and prescribed mebeverine hydrochloride. I’m not very satisfied with my experience with the GP. I tried
fodmap
for a month or two but it was largely inconclusive and I’m not going to take the medication - I’d rather figure out and treat the cause.

Expiry dates and oxalates
Then the oxalate conversation popped into my head because …I did a
FODMAP
exercise a couple of years ago and worked out that high oxalate foods particularly greens were giving me urinary symptoms like cystitis keeping me awake at night.

change in IBS symptoms
Also low
fodmap
. But didn’t stop the diarrhoea completely. Over the last few months I’ve been trying prebiotics and probiotics not helped a great deal either. The last lot I tried I took for three months they seemed to help a bit but not massively.

Advice on my array of recommended supplements (per endocrinologist”s recommendations)
The Dr identified Small Intestinal Bacterial Overgrowth (SIBO) so recommends considering a low
FODMAP
diet. They also recommend a lot of supplements, digestive enzymes, something to reduce inflammation, some referred to as natural antibiotics and many more.

soft, sticky stool which is hard to pass - any advice?
Despite avoiding my known food triggers (diary, high fat, eggs, chicken…), eating low
fodmap
, only drink water etc. I exercise also yet I am still having daily issues. I have endless gurgling, growling guts. Have upper issues such as excessive burping, a gnawing acidic feeling, awful nausea.
