I have lost loads of weight and I can feel every bone inside me now ordered smaller trousers but can't stand anything tight around my tummy area without it giving me even more discomfort around there as I am more or less skin and bone all over my body Yes I am trying 2 eat things on that FODMAP on my rare good days which are few and far between these days as today is a bad day having to forever dashing to the toilet ( even 2 fart sorry can't spell the right medical name 4 it ) and it ends up being another wee as where I have been straining 2 go it has hurt things inside of me that I didn't know I had !!! I have tried Doctors but it being a Monday got to call again tomorrow and doubt I will get much luck as I lost loads of weight I don't know what size I am not anymore

Again today I got this nasty gnawing, pinching, scratching up there and don't know if I am coming or going just hope I get somewhere with Doctors tomorrow!!! but not going to hold my breath

Well all of you on this forum take care x

I hope you can get hold of the doctors but please weigh yourself before you speak to them so you can tell them!!! They can prescribe liquid supplements that don’t upset the digestive system and are used for people with bowel disease I have to take vital shakes these are partially digested so my bowel gets a break but there are lots fortisip etc please don’t starve yourself it won’t help your bowels as it needs the nutrients to work properly.

These are the ones that I was prescribed by a dietitian they are expensive to buy on your own….

nutrition.abbott/uk/product...

You can buy them online but they are over £5 a bottle…..

chemist.net/vital-1-5kcal-2...

They have 300 calories and all the vitamins needed in a 200ml bottle so they are very good but I just pay £9.50 for my prescription and get a months worth so it is worth talk to your gp but I don’t know if they would prescribe them without a dietitian but these can also be used as sole nutrition if required but you would need to drink at least 5 bottles a day for that so please be careful I use these to supplement food as I can’t eat enough and bmi is extremely low.

I hope that helps as you need to keep your calories and nutrients up for your bowel to work so take care.

I was given a product called symprove I would take that every morning on an empty tummy I took it every morning as told by dietitian from the GW hospital in Swindon I was on it for 4/5 months I didn't notice very much difference to my Bowel Movements still same problems so have been having YAKULTS one little pot in the morning again on empty tum in the morning lacto-free milk in teas De-caf teas gluten free wheat free pasta every day with tuna Well to be honest I really don't know what I am doing Yes I do have a fodmap diet sheet even that is confusing Oh I wish that these medical people could come up with a tablet or something that would cure us all any way take care and look after your self and Thank you for your input as you must be going through your own mess without me adding to it!!!

I tried symprove for years and found it useless I am low fodmap and again still have a million issues so I do understand it’s a never ending battle. My gastro recommended Alflorex Dual Action Food Supplement for Digestive Health this is also a probiotic but I haven’t been able to try it properly yet.

The liquid supplements do help add the calories and stop you losing weight and help protect your other organs as I know it’s hard to eat when you are in pain and suffer so many symptoms from it. I am in agony 24/7 I don’t sleep and I’m broken but I’ve been through lots of failed surgeries and have lots of other things going on but my bowels ruin my life so I do feel your pain and I hope someone medical can help you as it’s clearly getting too much for you I’ve been fighting for 9 years but I swapped to private which has helped a lot then nhs failed me I even broke all my ribs falling out of bed in nhs hospital.

I use the same, the vital 1.5kcal (2 bottles a day as supplementary food), to prevent further weight los. Prescribed by one of the dietitians working for the gastroenterology unit of a university hospital in the Netherlands.

I find them the best of the liquid supplements on my gut, mine was prescribed by a dietitian in London UK.
