IBS
Been to the GP and they suggested the
FODMAP
diet. I am trying to get down on carbs, wheat and gluten but it’s hard. I was taking Melbeverine and at first, it worked but now it hasn’t been so I stopped.

Fed Up
I have lost a lot of weight being on
FODMAP
and fear eating like a regular person because the discomfort is so severe. I am taking this into my own hands....apparently very little testing is done in my region for IBS and colonoscopy is not a given. "If it was cancer, you wouldn't be here".

Buprenorphine trouble
I use
fodmap
as a guide but it doesn't help too much. I need a better way of handling when the patch wears off, think I'll get the doc to prescribe one month of a double patch, then keep the extras and change the patch on the night of day 5 so it kick in before the other patch begins to wane

**UPDATE** Bloods: consistent low sodium levels (Bit freaked out!)
* can anyone relate to the digestive issues and what helps you to manage that (been on the low
fodmap
diet 2+ years - it helps a bit but is no magic bullet :) * Does anyone have Addisons? (
@Greygoose
?). How did you know? How bad are the meds? Any other advice or info would be wonderful.

Ibs-d and low fodmap fruits?
Question is, is it normal that even low fadmap fruits, in low quantities cause trouble. Such as a single kiwi. Some strawberries. I always hear that ibs patients consume them all the time. There’s quite some fructose in them though. Is it normal, that someone (myself) can’t tolerate even a single kiwi

Can an App cure IBS?
I know the recommended route with
fodmap
is to have a
fodmap
trained dietitian to support through the process. Although some people won't have access to someone like that, or the cost will present a barrier.

Stress triggers destroying my life.
Only coffee and alcohol seem to trigger, and been on the low
Fodmap
for a few days just in case. It’s more about stress when I leave the house that’s completely destroying my life. I feel totally helpless.

IBS basics for beginners
So after your doctor’s tests, if IBS is your diagnosis, then the first thing to get familiar with is the
FODMAP
diet.

Low FODMAP and ibuprofen
I assume they are not low
FODMAP
but paracetamol are not strong enough to deal with the pain. I’m so annoyed as I was feeling so much better and thought I’d cracked it but now I’m suffering again.!

Rice cakes and bloating
Rice apparently is low
fodmap
so it seems rice cakes might be ok. However I worry about trying them incase they are probably full of air which might contribute to bloating. Any thoughts?

Is being bored / having nothing to do an IBS trigger?
I'm trying extremely hard to take in all of the advice - stick to the low
fodmap
diet, keep stress to a minimum, but as a result I'm pretty much housebound, eating the most bland of foods and just living an incredibly boring and dull lifestyle.

Help please...
I have attempted to follow a
FODMAP
diet for the last week and I have a day here and there of relief. Can a bad flare up last 4 weeks? Or should I be going back to my doctor to find out if it is something else? I’m just really concerned, any advise would be very welcome, thank you!
