Happened to see the team at Monash University ran this great little video tour of their fodmap app. See link below - Alana from alittlebityummy is really good presenter and really brings an energy to the subject.
It made me ask myself the question - can an App cure IBS?
I know the recommended route with fodmap is to have a fodmap trained dietitian to support through the process. Although some people won't have access to someone like that, or the cost will present a barrier.
Have to see though, having seen how much information you can access in their App, there must be plenty of people out their curing their IBS just by using a good Fodmap App to navigate the fodmap approach.

My understanding is that there is no cure for ibs presently, rather only a management of symptoms via diet and stress management. And many people respond well to low dose tricyclics(not me, unfortunately).
I have the app and follow the low fodmap diet and have never been to a dietician. My symptoms are about 90% managed. I'm lucky in that I'm retired and have plenty of time read and cook.
I think regular exercise helps as well.
I've never paid for an app before, but it is likely the best 10 bucks(one time payment) I've ever spent. Invaluable if you're on the diet.
