I’ve been kind of ignoring my ibs over the last couple of years, just taking my tablets randomly and not really changing my diet or trying out the fodmap diet. I’ve had it twice this year now (yesterday being the most recent) where I start the day feeling really bloated, then starting to get cramps, yesterday I had abdominal cramps all day and was in and out of sleep, then later in the night I woke up with shivers and abdominal cramping, went downstairs to get a drink and immediately threw up. I’ve made sure over the past few weeks to take my tablets as well, but yesterday they didn’t help. This has happened twice now, and I can’t work out if it’s something I’ve eaten or not. I wondered if anyone else has had something similar? Or has any advice on starting fodmap?

I think you should get a blood test. I have followed the low fod map for 6 years now and it has changed my life. There are lots of Fodmap apps available and the one I use is Fodmap by FM. This was recommended by my dietitian. You type in what you think you are going to eat and it simple advises whether you can or cant eat it. Look up the IBS network and join it. Great help
I have been on fod map diet for over 3 years. I kept going to my Dr with bad stomach pains, not understanding what was going on. After a few visits to the Dr and his questioning and feeling my stomach, and asking where it hurts , he recommended the FOD map diet. He said look it up online - it went from there. I printed off charts with the foods I can safely eat. I did a bit of reading. I found the diet restrictive but as time goes on you become creative and you can do a lot with the foods that you can eat. There are loads of recipes on pinterest. My stomach calmed down. Sometimes there are flare ups - cramping, gas, aches and pains etc. I don't know why. Probably too much of one food? Then I have to just eat cooked rice or vegetables for a few days till my insides calm down, then I slowly add other foods again.
You may have too much buscopan in your system compared to food. Just be careful what you put in there! Good Luck with it all.
