Post Rheumatology Appointment
Thank you to everyone who gave me advice for my Rheumatologist appointment yesterday......it was my first one and I thought I'd give an update on my experience at Benenden Hospital. I have posted this as a response in my original thread too but thought I'd start a new post to see if people found it useful

Had a lot of dental work done last year and kind of still going through recovery. I had two extracts, three temp bridges one perm bridge that was fitted in July, four composite fillings, cap then ended up with a root filling through the cap. My bridge is so uncomfortable still unable to eat properly

Struggling with abdominal cramps and bloating in the evenings and mornings
I'm recently diagnosed in September. I'm taking 200mg twice daily of mebeverine which helps with going to the toilet daily but I'm finding that I'm getting bad abdominal cramping and bloating in the evenings and the morning which then settles during the day, only to flare up again later on. Does anyone

Fennel Seeds
Hi everyone, I've recently done some research into fennel seeds, and I've read that apparently it contains a compound called Anethole, which helps to relax the muscles in your digestive tract. I was just wondering if anyone here has eaten fennel seeds before and can verify this. I am looking for ways

Oesophagus/Stomach issues - where to start?
My complaint has been going on for at least 10 years now and the symptoms get worse every year but I am unsure of how to proceed. My symptoms. Every intake of breath seems to increase the pressure in my oesophagus and every few seconds I have to either break the seal by flexing my throat to intake

any way to increase ferritin without increasing iron saturation?
after two months of taking iron supplements (75mg every other night on empty stomach), my ferritin rose from 51 to 158. Unfortunately, my iron saturation rose from 46% to 59%. This is caused by fairly high iron (172) and fairly low transferrin (291), though both are within normal range. My doctor

IBS or not
I’ve had ongoing stomach pains for over 2 years, had ct scans, sigmoidoscopy, endoscopy, nasal gastosgraphy plus mri scan . I have a sliding hiatus hernia which my doctor thought was the problem, but they couldn’t find it ! Hospital have said all tests are fine, and abdominal pain is due to something

Gastroscopy aftermath!
I had a gastroscopy yesterday evening. He went down into my stomach and small intestine. I've had a few of these in the past - the last one 20 years ago. I cannot remember feeling quite so bruised and sore as I did last night and still do. He took a biopsy and so I know my stomach will be sore and will

A newbie question about vitamin D3
Before discovering compression fractures due to osteoporosis, I was taking various vitamin supplements. ( this is going to sound like I’m a hypochondriac, but I was trying to stay healthy). I had Garlic tablets, Glucosamine& Chondroitin, vit B, vit D3 and zinc. After my DEXA scan, my old GP put me on

new MBC drug for PIK3CA mutation in Hr+HER- breast cancer survivors
On Nov 16, 2023, the FDA approved another drug for those who have developed the PIK3CA. Mutation after first line treatment for the HR+HER- type. It’s another drug in the same vein as PIQRAY which also has to be used with Fulvestrant. This one is from AstraZeneca but it seems to have all the same side

Does anyone have CtDna blood test added In their monitoring routine?
Hi! Kim 43 MBC since 3/2021. I do alot of reading of clinical trials and medical journals. I found this CtDna blood test that SUPPOSEDLY detects cancer cells in the blood up to 10 months sooner than a Petscan. My Oncologist didn't know about this testing so after fielding out all the companies that do

Hello, I was wondering how to tell if you need b12 injections when you take oral b12 and your serum b12 always comes out looking great? I haven't had it tested recently but past tests always come out way over the range. Anyway, I saw a post by @Marz in which she said that she takes b12 due to having

Tumour marker
I have been in Ibrance, Letrozole and six monthly Denusomab shots for 3 years and 9 months with NEADs from the first Pet scan. C15.3 and CEA have fluctuated within the normal range since. PET scan in Sep 23 also showed NEADs. Recent bloods in Thursday showed c15.3 rise to above the normal range

Healing slowed due to lack of sun energy.
I am still healing but it is slower and I need more sleep to heal. It became definitive when there was stronger February sun and there happened to be fewer clouds. I got "good sun" and needed a lot of sleep. The sun is doing its part it is the peskey clouds fault. 🙂 I do take 1000 IU of D3, 3 IU of
