Lab results help & talking to doctor about med changes
I talked to my doctor before my lab work about possibly changing the dosage of my levothyroxine or even adding T3 because I still don't think I am optimal. She gave me a " we will see" response and said she doesn't want to mess with it too much because adding one thing can make something else wonky.

Thyroid cancer
I have a close friend who’s just been diagnosed with thyroid cancer so is waiting for surgery. She has been told this is not the worst cancer to get and it will not kill her. So she is trying to be upbeat about it. Can you live normally without a thyroid please? I’d really like to give her some optimistic

Valproate: new safety and educational materials to support regulatory measures in men and women under 55 years of age
I don't think there is any reason to expect many members to be taking any form of Valproate, but this is such an important issue, with such significant consequences, I've decided to post it anyway. Even if you are not taking it, someone you know might be. [i]

ctDNA - signatera
has anyone had the signatera bloodwork test? It is somewhat new science and compares a current blood draw to original tumor biopsy tissue. It then look for a match and works to to detect circulating tumor dna (ctDNA) in blood. It assigns a numbers as to how much ctDNA is found. My Mets are bone only

Divver? IBS? Something more sinister?
Back again. Noticed after a few weeks that I was eating fairly normally - always very careful - and not really going to the bathroom as much as I should have. Small soft BMs, after feeling like a huge BM was coming. Also having either hemmerhoid or fissure, fistula issues, but my opening is very sore

Going in for a radical Cystectomy, stopping Biologic.
Hello lovely people. My first six monthly Cystoscopy after getting the all clear from bladder cancer in January showed that the cancer was back with a vengeance. So on Monday I'll be undergoing a Radical Cystectomy. I'm OK and positive with the outlook of living without a bladder and lots of other bits

Iron deficiency
Hello I’m asking a question with regards to low ferritin levels (17.4). I’m confused whether I should be prescribed folic acid or iron?!

Blood results
Hi all, Following on from the very useful help and advice I received on my previous posts, I have some blood results back and am hoping for some advice this time. My B12 came back in the normal range but low and my ferritin came back only just scraping into the normal range (results attached).

Intro + some PA questions
Hi all :) As an avid armchair researcher, I already have good notes on B12 deficiency and Pernicious Anemia, but a few things still confuse me. I'm also curious how our unaware GP is planning to treat my mum with recently discovered PA. My story in short... I've been aware of "the true nature" of

waking up in a panic
Does anybody else wake up from sleep just overwhelmed with anxiety and negative thoughts? I wake up feeling like this every day I start off in a panic and I’d really like for it to stop now. If you have any suggestions or ideas that might be helpful on how to reduce the morning panic attacks and anxiety

PSMA scan costs part 3
So in two prior posts, I wrote about what I was told a PSMA scan would cost. Then I wrote about what the hospital charged for the procedure. Now I have the EOB from insurance. So this is in the USA, for those international patients. So hospital billed $29,610 for the scan plus $7,305.70 for the facility
