I've recently done some research into fennel seeds, and I've read that apparently it contains a compound called Anethole, which helps to relax the muscles in your digestive tract. I was just wondering if anyone here has eaten fennel seeds before and can verify this. I am looking for ways to combat bloating and indigestion, as these are the main symptoms that I'm struggling with at the moment.

They are in the US. I order 3 bags at a time and they last a long while. I routinely make at least 1 cup a day and more if things are really annoying. (Don't order a lot of her peppermint teas unless you are sure your stomach can handle them. Mine can't.)
Thank you for sharing your experience and giving me the link! I'll give it a try and see how it goes. My stomach definitely can't tolerate peppermint, I have tried it before and it DESTROYED me.
It was suggested, by a health coach that I take a few fennel seeds, which I have just brought. This is to increase my omega 3. I also have a few chia seeds on 2 tablespoons of porridge.
As they are all high fibre and I can not tolerate a lot of fibre I was told just to eat a small amount and increase very very slowly if I am ok.
I was also told to prepare all this the night before so it can all soak overnight as it is easier to digest.
You can do enteric peppermint oil capsules; they don't open until they reach the intestine. If you live in the UK, you can take Colpermin or any other COATED peppermint oil capsule.
"Colpermin is a herbal medicinal drug especially meant for irritable colon syndrome, also known as irritable bowel syndrome (IBS). Colpermin capsules contain 187mg of peppermint oil and are indicated for the symptomatic treatment of painful stomach cramps* or spasms, bloating and flatulence."
Also, Superdrug has its own label IBS Relief Capsules and Windeze is also great. For trapped wind, you can also try Deflatine. I don't live in the UK, but when I visit, I buy as many of these things as possible to help till my next visit.
