PIP assessment
My husband is 30 years post head injury. He has received DLA mid rate for about 25 years. He was told that this was a life long award due to the extent of his injuries. Now he’s being changed to PIP and has been told he needs to attend an assessment in Brighton. This is 25 miles from where we live and

Unable to reduce Pred. Any ideas?
I'm having real difficulty reducing my Pred dosage below 8mg. Any ideas? I started with PMR in December 2017 after a cycling accident, though it wasn't diagnosed for 3 months. I started on 25mg of pred and got down to 12.5mg without problem. But from that point on it's been extremely difficult to

4 year old refuses toilet and potty
Hi, I'm really struggling with my 4 year old son. He simply refuses to wee or poo anywhere other than in a nappy. I live in Belgium and am struggling to find support, particularly as we are not fluent in french. I've tried the ERIC helpline countless times but just can't get through. I don't know what

Intro post/vent
Hi! First time posting, and I sort of wish it wasn't just because I need some understanding ears to vent to! I had a minor head injury almost a year ago now. There's no pain anymore- that faded in about 4 months, but I still find myself a bit vacant and scatterbrained, and my short term memory has gotten

Hospice-ask your doctor and look into it.
Our neurologist recommended hospice for my husband in dec 2018. My father was dying and put off until now. We met, he was approved and I can’t tell you how helpful after one visit -all within an hour and a half. His lift recliner had broken, we got a new one this afternoon. He will get a hospital bed

New strange symptom
Hi Everyone, Hope you are all well, I’ve been experiencing some strange sensation when I’ve been drinking cold drinks and it’s really hard to explain but here goes. When I drink a cold drink I have one part of the roof and back of my mouth that go numb - it’s as if I’m about to get brain freeze but

nerve cells work mechanically rather than chemically
This is a repeat of the Fibromyalgia Post Many of the strange times that happen in Fibromyalgia I believe happen for mechanically reasons. The medical model of how nerves work is known to many a medical professional. This model is known to be flawed and does not explain why physical treatments that are

Going home
Hello all, I am going home bone biopsy ok 👌🏼 so they will get haematology to come see me. Who will give me instructions. I won’t be leaving until late afternoon so just a little longer here. I was told I was going back with new drugs - I think this was what they said. https://www.macmillan.org.uk

Discontinuation of 10mg chloripramine
Hi, for years I was on 10 mg of chloripramine, which suited me . Then 4 years ago, I went up to 20mg after some stress. It’s been fine. Then I was feeling so much better earlier this year, I started occasionally taking 10 mg again. Then I was told they don’t make 10mg anymore, the lowest dose is 25mg

Up and running again.... post achilles pain
After nearly two weeks on injury couch (with a bit of cycling, and lots of cleaning to do to keep me fit and busy), I found myself pacing the lounge desparate to get out... so at 10pm I braved the dark (in lovely moon light) and went out with my two bouncy 'guard' dogs (not) and ran a super slow 2km
