Filgrastim

I should say I'm neutropenic (I have filgrastim injections twice a week) and I also have low platelets. Haemoglobin hovers around 120 which is just within normal range. I'm hoping others on this amazing site will have some advice or suggestions. Any advice would be appreciated. Thank you.

The problem is I am on a max dose of 200g per day rather then the 400g because my white blood cells count has again dropped and I am having to have three jabs per week of filgrastim (Zaria)to boost my white cells. This is my third booster session.

About 5 months ago my neutrophil count dropped below 1 and I started on Filgrastim. I was having one a week at first which helped then they dropped so it was two a week , they dropped to .4 so I had 3 that week . Happy days I got 2.5 so dropped back to 2 last week .

. ----- How effective is Grastofil (Filgrastim) at supporting recovery of white blood cell counts? What does this portend for my likelihood to complete 6 cycles on schedule?

At home I then had a course of tablets and injections including Filgrastim, Etoposide, Dexamethasone Etoposide , Loperamide & Metoclopramide. I had oral morphine and paracetamol along with 2 x10 mg of slow release morphine for pain management.

Any of you lovely ladies on Filgrastim? I am half way through my 2nd line chemo and on Carboplatin. Doing Ok with that but since Filgrastim injections I have been getting some soreness in the back of my neck and some aches down my right side where the main tumour is.

had my 3rd round of chemo after a delay again , been given 5days worth of tummy injection (filgrastim) has anybody had them and do they work !! I know they are to boost white blood cell

When I started 6 rounds of chemotherapy in 2017 I was not aware of the drug filgrastim. During my second infusion I had complications due to a very high fever and was hospitalized for 5 days. I was given intravenous full spectrum antibiotics every 4 hours for the 5days.

I’ve been told I done need to inject Filgrastim. I asked the chemo nurse to check and she said no injections. Has anyone else had Caelyx with no filgrastim afterwards? Thank you. Gill X

But my white blood cell count has plummeted to the point hospital has put me under lockdown, and went even lower after 3 filgrastim injections although haematology say sometimes their effect is delayed. Plus,my platelets are low and have been told to return to hospital at any odd symptoms.

The only part i believe worked was the filgrastim shot. Has anyone else had a similar experience and how did you get rid of the illness? Thanks!

I have been given 5 Filgrastim to inject myself with, the first being today on day 3, these are to make more white blood cells from the bone marrow, so that is interesting,hopfully they will do the business. Yesterday we walked and i felt quite good really.

Edit: My specialist put me on Filgrastim and is giving it two weeks for the neuts to come back up and we will revisit at that time.

I think Filgrastim contains human growth hormone and I've had 8 injections of it after each chemo. Could it actually make cancer worse? Does anyone know? Candy x

Plus I had filgrastim 3 days before transfer to help it stick and also the intralipid drip on the day of transfer. Also had the endo scratch last month, that is supposed to increase chances. How has none of this worked? I’m so exhausted and shattered about it.

I had to explain re filgrastim pre-emptive strike that my cancer team has as its protocol. I wasn't low in white cells so now, after the injections, they are artificially high. But I don't know the numbers.

With the treatment, leuckocytes went down to about 2500 but I balance that with Hizentra, every 2 weeks and the occasional shot of Filgrastim.

Restarted Chemo after surgery this week, with Cabo, Taxol and Avastin followed by filgrastim injection 24 hours later. Chemo session 8 hours so a long day on my own with the nurses and FaceTime etc but we coped very well considering. Just waiting for side effects to kick in (if any).

Your specialist may prescribe Granulocyte - Colony Stimulating Factor (G-CSF) injections (Neulasta, Neupogen, Filgrastim, Zarzio, etc). These are injected into the subcutaneous stomach skin via a very fine needle and boost neutrophil production.

Does anyone have significantly higher creatinine levels when taking figrastim?
