Hi All. Well I’ve just had my first infusion of Caelyx. I’ve been told I done need to inject Filgrastim. I asked the chemo nurse to check and she said no injections. Has anyone else had Caelyx with no filgrastim afterwards? Thank you. Gill X
Injections after Caelyx: Hi All. Well I’ve just... - My Ovacome

- Ovarian cancer
- Intestinal and stomach conditions
- Anal and rectal conditions

No Filgrastim for me after Carbo/Caelyx. Yes after Carbo/Gemcitibine and now after weekly Taxol.
Hi. I didn't have them after Carbo/Caelyx. My platelets got very low but always bounced back before the next infusion.
no i didn’t have injections and I’ve had that combination twice x
I had injections after carbo / taxol and after carbo/caelyx.
Currently on caelyx / carbo and no filgrastim . I had it with Taxol / carbo.
I had no injections after Carbo/Taxol but did with Carbo/Caelyx. Now on weekly Taxol / trial/placebo drug with no injections.
From reading the responses I guess it shows how individual we all are and how difficult it is to get rid of this disease. What works for one doesn’t for another. Good luck with your journey xx
on second line treatment with carbo:caelex, and got the injections
Before you get you injection of filgrastim you should have your blood work done. If you leukocytes (white cells) are low, than injection (within 24 hours after the chemo) is recomended. Sometimes oncologists prescribe injections prophylactically.
Normally no but if your blood counts drop you might check into it
