I started O and V last year I have one week left on Venetoclax. I’ve had sepsis twice and been an in patient to get it sorted . About 5 months ago my neutrophil count dropped below 1 and I started on Filgrastim. I was having one a week at first which helped then they dropped so it was two a week , they dropped to .4 so I had 3 that week . Happy days I got 2.5 so dropped back to 2 last week . A pitiful .6 this week so back to 3 jabs next week. I suppose I’m asking if anyone else has had this problem?
the reason for treatment was 89% infiltration in the bone marrow .
I’m getting really worried that things aren’t going the positive way .

It is a very common side effect, please read my previous posts. I was on the same treatment and had Filgrastim for the whole duration of the treatment. Sometimes 5 in a row, sometimes just once a week. I finished O+V in mid June. Two weeks later I stopped my Filgrastim and have not needed it since. My neutrophils are in a very safe range! I also had sepsis, so I totally understand how worrying this can be for you. I bet that when you finish, it won't take more than a month for you to be off Filgrastim and your neutrophils will bounce back.
my neutrophils went to .15 -- they gave me a shot of neulasta and in 4 days they went up to 9 an increase of 60 times the starting level .. then slowly decreased over a 4 months period but still above 1 ..maybe you can try that drug instead of the Filgrastim ???.. keep looking up .. you'll make it .. blessings , james
Hi AussieNeil ,,, that is very good to know since i still have a ways to go on my venetoclax and if my neutrophils tank again i will not be stressed when they offer to give me a shot with a different name .. 👍 james
