Ground hog day
Here I am again, every night I take=Zoplicone,Amitriptyline,Sertraline Simvastatin and of course pain killers. And every nite I might be lucky to get 2 hours. Exhausted, fatigued and fed up. Will all start again tomorrow nite just like past 3 months. See GROUND HOG Day.

Atorvastatin
I have recently had my meds changed from Simvastatin to Atorvastatin. About this time I started with very acute pain in the lower part of my body - from my hips down my legs into my feet. This pain is so bad that I find walking very difficult, cannot exercise and find sleep almost impossible. I believe

cholesterol
A recent blood test (for something other than my AF) shows I have a high cholesterol of 7.5. I explained to the GP that I have always been high as other members of my family are too. He explained the risks if I don't take statins and prescribed 'simvastatin' ........... just looked at the more common

HUK conference at Hatfield this year.
Below is the content of my email to HUK, CEO: I went to last year’s HUK conference in Warwick and saw the benefit of attending the UHK conference and also planning to attend this year’s conference in Hatfield. I found it was difficult to ask questions due to time factor therefore want to send a list

Joints aches and pains
Hi I have been on Warfarin since 1998 and I have my own home testing machine as well as having it checked from time to time with the Nurse at my Surgery to make sure my machine is correct. My problem is that I am having aches in my ankles and going for walks with my dog is quite testing sometimes.

A little advice please
Hi, I am 50 love Zumba an exercising. Currently working in a primary school. Diagnosed type 2 in 2013. Just started taking Simvastatin 2 weeks ago, but stopped yesterday. Lots of muscle pain on legs and arms. Unfortunately did not read side effects as I would have seen this is where it stemmed from

Consultant changes his mind again!
Well had another appointment with the Lung specialist again. Started with the usual weigh-in BP and Finger O2 it lit up at 95% so she writes it down but then it started to drop down to 92%. Then says It is my first day on here! So I said "It is usual to let the O2 monitor settle down for a few seconds

Haven't posted for a long time although I check in most days, I've been having a pretty crap time of it for quite a while and I tend to go into a corner at those times. I have Rheumatoid disease and osteo arthritis, I didn't tolerate methotrexate in the early days so have been on sulphasalazine and

AF and numb feet. Is it the tablets?
I am 6 months post-ablation and my heart is currently behaving but I am having a horrid problem with numb feet. It's hard to explain what it feels like. There is no swelling and no apparent arthritis but I am aware of numbness and I have intermittent difficulty walking. Last weekend I drove for 90mins

Liver function and drugs
Hi everybody, I now have a new scary thing going on. A recent blood test showed raised level of some enzymes. (ALT for info). I was told that I may have fatty liver disease. I was questioned quite closely on how much I drink. (Not that much in the broad scheme of things) I had to have a second blood

My Story - skip to bottom for AF question
Hi Everyone I have just found this site and gained some useful information. My first conclusion is that no two cases are the same. I complained about my heart feeling funny over 5 years ago to my Dr who sent me for an ECG - result no problems. The year before I had been put on blood pressure pills

Blood Pressure
Hi everyone. Its been nearly a year since I had my heart attack. Since then I have been on Ramapril for blood pressure, Warfarin, Sotalol and Simvastatin. As far as I know I have never had high blood pressure. The blood clot that caused my attack was the result of AF. My blood pressure at rest sitting

Has anyone tried red rice yeast as a replacement for statins?
My new doctor is thinking about putting me onto red rice yeast to help reduce cholesterol, but from what I've read up so far it seems the active ingredient is the natural form of statin from which synthetics have been derived (the patent for Lovastatin in the US exists and they are trying to declassify
