NAFLD
When I saw the
liver
specialist she said I definitely have a
fatty
liver
but unsure if it is fibrosis or cirrhosis. She didn’t really seem bothered which it was as it’s all on the same scale. Her only advice was to lose weight which I am trying to do.

Cirrhosis!
silly question but I was wondering if anyone ever was told that they have cirrhosis and one day it all got cleared? Is it possible for the liver to heal once it has cirrhosis and if anyone has the experience of this then please share the treatment or life style changes you may have adopted. Many thanks

Good site for vegan nutrition info and some supplements I take
https://veganhealth.org/daily-needs/ For a good B12 source would recommend the 3 natural form supplement here : https://www.sunday.de/en/vitamin-b12/. 500mcg per day is a good safe dosage. You cannot overdose on B12 and although 500mcg seems like a lot, only an estimated 6-7mcg are absorbed of this

imuran
I have been on Imuran 50mg for over 3 years and will be on it another 2 for autoimmune hepatitis. I also have PBC and take ursodiol for that. Imuran has lowered my liver levels and has kept them stable for me. It suppresses your immune system but it’s manageable. My dr is hoping that after being on it

Recent deterioration
I have an autoimmune liver disease called Nodular Regenerative Hyperplasia. This is caused by a primary immune condition called Common Variable Immune Deficiency. I have deteriorated slowly over 10 years and the phrase “ advanced liver disease” was used for the first time in September. A few weeks

imuran /Azathioprine
i’ve been started on Imuran/Azathioprine, for arthritis. I will have to be monitored closely, with labs due to my PBC. I was wondering if anyone else had their liver enzymes(inflammation), Get better while on this medication? My hepatologist, and Rheumatologist . Both agree, that if monitored closely

Can ultrasound detect cirrhosis?
hi all I’ve had a clear ultrasound but I have high high serum ferritin. GP referring me for a fibroscan and I’m really worried I might have cirrhosis. Anyone know how good ultrasound is at detecting cirrhosis??? Ive been drinking at least a bottle of wine daily for about 6 years with very few days off

Non Alcohol Fatty Liver
GP had only been able to diagnosis me with Non Alcohol
Fatty
Liver
. GP does not think it is thyroid related but I cannot help but feel it is. They have not advise on treatments but only with a plan to monitor things. In the mean time I am really struggling.

Unsure to be worried or not! Possible NAFLD
Anyway, I had an abdominal ultrasound before Xmas which ruled out most things but showed " a slightly
fatty
pancreas" and borderline enlarged
liver
. (She said it might be big or might be my normal). It otherwise looked smooth and non fatty.

Colon/rectum cancer with Fatty liver
I do not know if there's any correlation between
fatty
liver
disease and colon cancer, but I am a Nash patient and they discovered a Neuroendocrine tumor during a colonoscopy. Please get checked and say some prayers for me. Pretty sure we caught it early enough.

Methotrexate and A1AD caused cirrhosis
Four years ago I had a
fatty
liver
and was told to stop the methotrexate, loose a bit of weight and cut down drinking. I followed the advice and as far as I was aware, my liver went back to normal and liver function tests seem normal.

Update on transplant
So we had the follow up appointment this week with the transplant team. My husband has been on Rifaxomin since our last appointment 6 weeks ago, which he has responded really well to - thus confirms the diagnosis of mild HE. Happily, he hasnt had typical symtoms, just incredible fatigue, sleepiness and

ELF Test (Enhanced Liver Fibrosis)
Has anyone here had this test? I saw a different hepatologist and he ordered this lab. From what I understand, it measures 3 molecules in the liver matrix metabolism and gives a score reflecting the severity of fibrosis. They say it is so accurate it is beginning to replace liver biopsies.

Hubby saw Hepatology Registrar yesterday. We have some great news to share. Hubbys liver is no longer Decompensated, it is now compensated 🎉 so he has gone from stage 4 ARLD to stage 3 ARLD 🎉. The hepatic encephalopathy systems have gone, so he is no longer on that medication. The Ascites & Odeoma
