My AST is above the ALT but within normal limits. i'm freaking out. Anyone else have this with a diagnosis of liver disease?
AST is above ALT: My AST is above the... - British Liver Trust
AST is above ALT

Liver disease, what stage of liver disease? ALT/AST only let you know if inflammation is going on, People with cirrhosis can have normal enzymes, if you remove whats causing your liver insult.
No I have not been diagnosed. Scan was clear and other labs within normal limits. I'm worried they are missed something.
Are you having symptoms? What would be the cause of your liver disease?
The AST : ALT ratio only has any clinical significance when either of the numbers is significantly out of range OR when you already have a liver disease diagnosis and it can help with differentiating what the cause may be.
In someone with normal bloods and with all other normal tests it has no clinical significance at all & don't go convincing yourself they are missing something.

I heard CT scan is not optimal.
hello I’m new on here and just reading through. I had an abnormal enzyme once but no diagnosis. I can’t remember which one it was but GP told me loads of people might have had similar as it was just after Christmas. Obviously can’t be certain as I’m not a gp but mine rectified itself.
