Hello To You All
My husband and I continue to eat low carb, about 4 years now. Any one else continuing? Rather disappointing that low carb doesn't have a higher profile in many countries. Any idea why? My husband has also been looking into the omega 3 omega 6 ratio in our foods and the absolute intake of omega 6.

Hi.....again
Hi everyone, My partners liver cirrhosis had disappeared - to look at him you wouldn't know anything was wrong, he's on medication and for a while everything was good. Now he's developing a hard tummy again, I'm now worried that something is very wrong as he hasn't drank since he went to hospital back

Is it fair to keep cirrhosis a secret from family?
Hi, I just learned a parent has stage 4 liver cirrhosis. Some family has known for a year that tests were borderline and this was a possibility. This parent has been sober for over one year and is walking 1-2 miles a day. We’re told it’s compensated stage 4 and he could have anywhere from one year to

cirrhosis and statins
I’ve not asked for help on here before and would really appreciate any advice. I have alcoholic cirrhosis and am being recommended statins for cholesterol by my practice nurse. I’m a 57 year old UK male. The information sheet from the nurse session warns not to take statins if you have cirrhosis. I’m

is this possible?
My son died at the age of 36 in the USA in September 2023. He had been alcohol dependent but had finally managed to stop drinking a month before, and his liver results were steadily improving . He woke up one Sunday bright yellow but feeling fine and it took his wife 48 hours to persuade him to go to

Fighting for corrections is so hard.
I am coming up on the one year of my wife's passing. On this day last year, she was sitting in her hospital bed eating frozen fruit. She was at 99% Sat with 1l of O2, and the plan was to turn it off in the morning. LFT's bang on Normal. Indirect Billi is still high, direct normal. Albumin low Plat low

Tiny Levo increase but FT4 well over range
Just got results back from MMH. I’ll add historical results for comparison but they may be irrelevant as I am where I am! I take Levo only. Ranges were 3.1-6 for FT3 and 12-22 for all tests. 2021 on 100mcg TSH 0.01 FT4 24.9=129% (12-22) FT3 6.5=91.89% (3.1-6.8) Note: insomnia much improved

IVF Cycle Failure/Fertility Diet
Hi - my first cycle of IVF has resulted in a negative pregnancy test. I had 10 follicles, 6 eggs retrieved, 3 mature, 2 fertilised & 1 early blastocyst which was transferred. I was on 450iu Meriofert with Ganerilix. If your first cycle failed what did you change for the second? I'm due to go again

Extreme liver enzyme elevation
Nothing out of the ordinary with the exception of mild
fatty
liver
and polyps in gall bladder. I had a fibroscan scan during that time when my liver enzymes were elevated and it said mild to moderate fibrosis, but the recent mri did not show that.

please some help here, end stage liver cancer.
Dear BLT people, I hope you are all doing reasonably well. After my story 1.5 year ago about my misdiagnosed liver cirrhosis its kind of weird to say that I found out that my dad was diagnosed with liver cancer today. (he was never a drinker or fat or what so ever, he is quite old though, he is

Spider Nevis, does anyone else have these?
Short story, hospitalised over a year ago with jaundice and ascites due to alcoholism, considered de compensated cirrhosis, original fibro scan read 22.2kpa, now it’s 9 and I’m considered to have fibrosis and not cirrhosis although my liver is obviously scarred and my doctor is quite honest when he said
