Iron supplementation and TSH levels
I don't know how it is in the UK, but dealing with drs and lab tests here in the US can be highly frustrating. My Endo doesn't check for Ferritin, Iron, etc with my TSH tests. So I did them myself. I also have an acupuncturist who has been helping me as a functional dr since most Western Drs here

Cycle One Done - This has been the toughest week!
This is a long post - please accept my apologies in advance. Cycle one effectively done (next week chemo free just consultant follow up). Week started Monday with picc line. That was a little uncomfortable but nowhere near as bad as I thought. Unfortunately I mentioned some back pain and the team insisted

Feeling very lost and alone.
Hi, Diagnosed Lupus Jan 2018. Positive ANA, dsDNA, Rheumatoid Factor, Ro52, Mi2b, anti cardiolipin numerous tests over the past 20 months) I was given an urgent referral to neurology (6 weeks ago now - doesn't seem very urgent) after worsening muscle weakness. My physio did muscle strength test, wasn't

Intrinsic Factor Antibodies Gone.
My doctor says I have no more intrinsic factor antibodies in my latest blood work. Initial levels were 1.2 (range 0-1.1) What does this mean? I don’t have a print out from my newer lab results or I’d supply updated numbers. Parietal cell antibodies were high (103; scale 0-20 range) on my initial results

Please help: Gastrointestinal symptoms
27 year old female, diagnosed with anti-parietal cells 6 years ago.
I'll try to keep it as brief and succinct as possible ... I have severe gastrointestinal discomfort. Every single day of my life, without fail. Doesn't matter how well I eat. My diet is immaculate yet I get extremely bloated,

Hoping for improvement - lining scan
Just awaiting my lining check this morning after a cancelled cycle and hysterscopy that showed thin pale unresponsive lining. I’ve literally done everything I possibly can to improve; acupuncture, fertility massage and yoga, castor oil packs, good diet, no drink, vitamin c, d, e and l’argine, co enzyme

Can PA just disappear, even though you still suffer?
So, my nurse practitioner tested my intrinsic factor. I no longer have records of when I was diagnosed with PA about 6 years ago. Apparently, she did not feel comfortable managing my symptoms and referred me to a Hematologist. I go see the Hematologist and he tells me I no longer have PA, but doc, I'm

GP still not getting it!
Had 6 loading doses in June, Doctor gave them reluctantly as levels had risen to 400 from 140 on oral supplements. I gave her lots of info re nhs guidelines and info from PA society which she promised to read. Was told to go back in August. Felt better at end of loading shots, but symptoms (exhaustion

GP wants to reduce my dose
Hi all I'm taking 125 mcg of levothyroxine and 20mcg of liothyronine. My levothyroxine had been increased by 25 mcg approx January this year as I had ongoing fatigue symptoms. GP had suggested levo increase. At the same time, he tested iron and that was found to be a little low. He prescribed me Syrton

Intrinsic factor
Looking at recent blood results my intrinsic factor is 1, which doc says is fine, says it should be below 1.2 U/ml. I self Inject now as spray/tablets don’t help. Do I need to ask for the test to be done again? I don’t like to waste resources.

Worried about other half
So after being diagnosed with AF and unsuccessful cardioversion, OH has taken Amiodarone for 18 months prior to ablation last November. Following ablation, he suffered with digestive problems. Continued to take Amiodarone til he started coughing & feeling breathless; he saw his GP who immediately stopped

Blood test results - v confused
Hello everyone! Firstly, can I just say thank you for even reading this post. My situation is, I was diagnosed hypo after I had my first child April 2017. My dose of Levothyroxine has been 200mcg since last September and GP's would not increase it. I have now finally been referred to an Endo following

I think I have PA but my test results say otherwise? (& rapid increase in symptoms?)
Hello! I have had anaemia for about a year and my GP has been trying to work out what is causing it. I initially had low-ish b12 so had the b12 injections and my anaemia improved somewhat; since then I have been on the b12 pills instead (as we wondered if i had a dietary deficiency). The anaemia has

Advice requested
Hi 👋 Sorry for long post... I’ve had bilateral swelling and stiffness in feet, ankles, knees, shoulders, wrists and hands for a while now but seems to have worsened over past 12 months or so. GP has recently done bloods - Rheumatoid factor was 10 (range <15) so I’m guessing this rules out RA? My ESR
