hello I have been using Ilube eye drops for years. ( Acetylcysteine 5% )I have recently discovered it contains preservative benzalkonium chloride which is toxic to the eye. Is this a reason to stop using it or is the preservative not in large amounts? Many thanks

When you are prescribed new eyedrops, or in fact any type of prescribed medication, it is always a good idea to read the patient information leaflet for side effects, which is normally section 5.

His instruction was to stop all eyedrops. I was not aware that the Maxidex was keeping my eye from healing. There seems to be a dearth of information given to the patient.

I have been using 3 lots of eyedrops twice a day for 23 years i struggling hugely at first and had to have help. I improved over time and can now put them in anywhere!!Don't worry, you'll get there.

Just been diagnosed with glaucoma but I just cannot put eye drops in,husband is putting them in for me but I need to try to put them in myself but I get so anxious.

What is the point of this cheaply made unenvironmental product which is delivering eyedrops in such a hit or miss way such as to jeopardise peoples eyesight??? Should I take this up with my dispensing pharmacist this time, on the grounds of unuseableness or address my concerns to my consultant?

Lanerstol Eye Drops are marketed for use on animal cataracts to clear their lenses, seemingly, with success. My eye pressure returned to normal levels in June and i was told that if there was no deterioration at the next check, I could come off the two eyedrops (Dorzolamide, Latanoprost). However, at my check in Jan this year, though the eye pressure was normal there was deterioration in the glaucoma.

I don’t think my consultant would change my eyedrops lightly because I am experiencing progressive sight loss in one eye (have already had a trabeculectomy) and I think the options for other drops are running out.

I am now 38 weeks pregnant and they have switched me to cosopt eyedrops preservative free twice a day.

Eyedrops are the common advice from my Optometrist, GP, and Opthalmologist. I found homeopathic Similasen Allergy drops work for me.

My GP gave me eyedrops for the dry eyes, which have helped but the eye ache is still a problem. Anyone else experienced this?

Hi everyone I thought you might like to hear about this fall back if you are stuck somewhere without your eyedrops. I left home on Friday for a 5 day stay with my mother in law 200 miles from home. I found I had forgotten my eye drops.

Eyes aren't great but specsavers checked and all OK typical for age, just needed a stronger script for reading glasses and better eyedrops, menopausal symptoms improving with some TLC and support from our dear old donkey friend  TiggerMe and heart rate lower since starting Adrenal Supplement from Pure

Has anyone else experienced bad pain associated with glaucoma eyedrops? If I have another condition (dry eye, for example) would these drops cause more harm than good? Getting answers from clinicians seems impossible. Took four days to get any sort of reaction.
