Hydroxychloroquine toxic retinopathy
Hi. I have had Lupus for 22 years and been on Hydroxychloroquine 400mg daily since then plus 2mg Prednisolone. Recent eye tests have shown that the Hydroxy is affecting the retina. I was warned at the outset, that it can affect eyes, but it still a bit of a shock. Opthamology Consultant says I must

Short episode for tonight. Mum's life has not always followed a smooth course and she has never been one to complain. It was only after several months of poor vision that she finally went to the optician only to discover too late that she had a badly detached retina. She was quickly admitted to hospital

Does hair loss eventually stop? 😔 I'm hoping someone can tell me something positive?
I'm getting new bloods next week & hopefully an increase to 75 (lactose free teva) on my way eventually to around 100 ish as I'm 63 kilos but I'm still losing my hair? Eyebrows have all but gone, eye lashes thining, red sore eye lids, dry eyes with occasional blurring (using drops) and very puffy underneath

How long to wait for trabeculectomy?
I'm wondering how long people have waited for a trabeculectomy operation, once they have been told they need one, either through NHS or going private? I'm asking because when I saw my consultant ( privately) in Feb he said that the visual fields test showed there was some deterioration ( normal tension

Biologic and methotrexate injections
hi I have had an infection and had to delay my methotrexate by a few days which is fine apart from it’s now on the same day as my Biologic/Adalimumab. Does anyone know what time gap there should be between the two injections? Thank you x

Dry eyes.
Does any one have immunosuppressant eye drops for dry eyes and if so do they work? I have had an uncomfortable eye for several years which I am assured is dry eyes. I get told always, it's dry eyes, put drops in. I have tried practically all over the counter drops, plus endless flavour of the month

Unsure how to proceed after flare continues
I wrote awhile back about having a return of PMR symptoms after successfully (over a year and a half) tapering to 5mg and staying on that dose for two months. The weather had gotten a lot colder here in Seattle and I attributed the flare partly to that. I increased my dose to 10mg for a week and had

Diabetic and Eye Damage
I have been insulin dependant diabetic for 40 years, which has been the cause of my eye conditions. I was one of the first patients my consultant gave eye injection, I've had three steroid implants, lots of Lazer and eye injections. Last year I had a sever bleed at the back of the eye resulting in

Tapering with a high ESR Reading?
My GP rang me yesterday because my ESR reading was 48 in a range of 1-30. He suggested I should increase the Pred. Because my cataract operation was cancelled for a fourth time yesterday, I dropped to 7 mg yesterday after being told, from 31 days on 7.5mg. I have read that ESR could denote

Sore dry eyes
Good morning folks. I’ve been switched from Latanoprost to Monopost drops for both eyes. Bilateral NTG. I was getting a lot of headaches, eye pain and swelling around my right eye and a duty A&E ophthalmologist suggested I could be reacting to the preservatives in the Latanoprost drops. I’ve been on

Extremely high eye pressure while sleeping.
Hi, I have been diagnosed with glaucoma for about 12 years now and I also have uveitis since I was 2 years old. The last 4/5 years the main focus has been managing glaucoma as my uveitis is in remission. Recently I managed to get self monitoring eye pressure machine from Icare so I can keep track of
