hi I have had an infection and had to delay my methotrexate by a few days which is fine apart from it’s now on the same day as my Biologic/Adalimumab. Does anyone know what time gap there should be between the two injections?

Thank you x

I was told not to do both on the same day . Biologic is more important and MTX can wait another day or so

Thank you that’s satisfied me. I thought I might have to delay Biologic but wasn’t sure. Don’t know how we would manage without the knowledge of you guys. Thanks again.

I take mine on the same day at the same time and was told that this is fine

We were told not to as its like giving your body a double whammy and if you get a problem they won't know which caused it. Even sciensus wouldn't come same day as I took mtx, to start biologics x

I take mine one day apart and was told it was up to me, that it didn’t matter.

Best to get advice from your rheumatology team.

I was never given any specific advice about the separation of doses of these medications. In my case my Biologic is every second Thursday and my MTX on Sundays. I had always taken MTX on Sundays and the nurse who came to instruct me on the injections came midweek and I have continued fortnightly since then.

If I have ever had to miss doses of either for any reason I take them when they are next due.

Check with your rheumy but I was told to take a day apart in case of any reaction …. So they would know which one had caused it.

Great advice. I was just going to respond saying the same as you did. I guess I no longer need to respond to question by Amb 😊
